Mornings are filled with different weekly enrichment topics with an emphasis on creative expression and good ole-fashioned summer fun. Themed activities involving games, song & dance, arts & crafts, sand & water play, and creative movement will provide the framework for the social, emotional, intellectual and physical development as well as the overall well-being of the young camper. See below for descriptions of weekly enrichment camps.

JUNE 15 – 19: WORLD TRAVEL - This week, campers

discover what life is like for children who live in different parts of the world. They will spend a day in each "country," making and tasting traditional foods, learning songs, and experiencing that region’s customs and traditions. At the end of the week parents will be able to look at their child's "passport" to see where they traveled.

JUNE 22 - 26: JUNIOR THEATRE - Campers will

help write their own play. Whether your child loves to be center of atten-tion or a backstage helper/scene de-signer, there will be a spot for them. Come see our show on Friday!

Activities on this campus are geared toward pre-K and elementary age students. Campers will spend each morning with their own age group enjoying that week’s enrichment program designed specifically for them. Some campers will leave at noon or arrive after lunch, while others will stay all day. For Afternoon Activities, campers will join together to enjoy field trips, swimming and traditional day camp fun. Optional Extended Care packages are available for an additional fee.

After the Sorter’s Hat chooses your house for this year, you can still go to the Dementor Kissing Booth and attend classes like Potions and Care of Magical Creatures. New this season, plan to visit the “Throw a Snowball at Malfoy” station and partake in other fun games and activities, which for now remain a secret. Also expect to help the house elves, go on a trip to Hogsmeade, and play quiddich in a new way. You will even have a chance to get the crown on the Ravenclaw Princess/daughter to celebrate Harry’s birthday.

THE CHEMISTRY OF COOKING with Kevin & Julie Caran How does cream turn into whipped cream when you mix it with a whisk? Why is a raw egg

gooey and translucent, while a cooked egg is stiff and opaque? Why does bread come out of the oven bigger than when it went in? What is the fastest way to make ice cream? We will explore the answers to these and other delicious questions as we delve into the science of cooking! No previous science or cooking background required.

No musical experience is needed and all instruments and equipment are provided during camp.

THE ART & SCIENCE OF NATURE JOURNALING with Julie Caran Grades 4 & 5 In a time long before Instagram, iPhones, and cameras, explorers authored journals filled with

precise descriptions and detailed sketches of the plants, animals, and people they encountered. In the great tradition of nature journaling, campers will hone their observation skills and learn to capture the world around them with the precision of naturalists. Campers will build a portable nature journaling kit that they can take into “the field” and learn about “natural science” artists like John James Audobon and local artist Betty Gatewood. They will read short excerpts of writing by nature writers like Henry David Thoreau and Annie Dillard, and explorers like Nathaniel Bowditch and Lewis and Clark, and study web cam broadcasts
