COLLEGE ASSISTANCE MIGRANT PROGRAM The College Assistance Migrant Program is a federally-funded program that provides students with financial assistance and support services during their first college year at PCC and transitional services beyond the first college year. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE $1,500 Scholarship and $900 for books, bus passes/parking permits, and emergency assistance based on need. ACADEMIC ADVISING e CAMP advisor works with students to ensure they are taking appropriate coursework and attend full-time each term. MENTORING AND TUTORING Students are assigned a peer mentor as a resource during their experience as first time college students. Also, students have tutors available to help them with school assignments. STUDENT LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT In order to foster relationship building and unity, students participate in the Summer Orientation to work on leadership skills, explore group dynamics, problem solving and overcoming challenges. CONFERENCE PARTICIPATION CAMP scholars have the opportunity to attend statewide and national conferences to further their leadership, networking and empowerment. COHORT CLASSES In order to build community, CAMP scholars participate in three career and guidance (CG) courses; College Survival, Financial Literacy and Career Exploration. PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT CAMP values families/guardians and involves them in the student’s college experience during the program through various events throughout the school year. CAMP

PCC’s College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) serves 45 students per year beginning fall term. Students must be migrant or seasonal farm workers or dependents of persons meeting this requirement. Students can qualify if they have been in the Migrant Program at one point in their lifetime.

WHO QUALIFIES FOR CAMP ?• High school graduates (or equivalent) with a 2.5 GPA or better

• Be eligible to apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

• Be a U.S. citizen or resident

• Take PCC academic placement test and meet acceptance levels

• Have a strong recommendation from a counselor or teacher

HOW DO I APPLY ?• Submit CAMP application (print version or online)

• Apply for FAFSA as early as October 1st

• Apply for PCC admission and take placement tests

• Meet with CAMP advisor to begin class registration

MAINTAINING ELIGIBILITY• Take a minimum of 12 credits per term

• Register for CAMP required courses

• Meet with a tutor on a regular basis

• Obtain course progress noti�cations (CPNs) from teachers

• Meet with CAMP advisor at least three times per term

• Maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA or better

• Attend CAMP events throughout the academic year
