Dear Junior High Parents-

Another school year is down and summer is fast approaching. Where has this school year gone? God did some amazing things within LifeWire this past school year and I am excited for all he has in store for us.

I am writing to let you know the summer schedule for LifeWire and junior high camp.

Our Wednesday night schedule, beginning June 16, will start like normal at 7:00 p.m., but will end at 9:00p.m. This allows us more time for outdoor activities, object lessons and such things as the occasional barbeque. . We have some wonderful ideas in store and we hope that your son or daughter will plan to join us!

Junior High Camp will be is July 12-16. Camp cost is $200, you can pay with cash, check or Visa or MasterCard ($5 transaction fee will be added on credit card purchases and electronic checks.) Please make checks payable Oregon City Evangelical Church.

Every year OCEC sets aside money for camp scholarships for our youth, interested in attending camp. The scholarship fund was not immune from the budget cuts that have affected other church ministries; so this year there will be fewer funds available for camp. Once the funds are gone, all work will be suspended.

The following are guidelines for 2010 Junior High camp scholarship funds:

1) All work has to be done between the dates of April 1st and July 2nd. All work before or following these dates will NOT be honored. This is to ensure we are being fair to all youth looking to receive funds

2) All work has to be done (unless prior arrangements have been made) Monday-Thursday during church office hours (8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.).

3) A 24-hour notice of a student’s availability to work is REQUIRED. This notice has to be given to Pastor Josh, Pastor Sue or the person you are working for. You MUST make direct contact with Pastor Josh or Pastor Sue or the person you are working for. Dropping off students to work without prior notice will not be allowed. If you give a 24-hour notice we might not have any work on that day so we will have you come in at some other time (with at least a24-hour notice.

4) Good work ethic and attitude is a must. Pastor Josh has final approval of the hours. Work hours will not be compensated if the student: 1). Shows a lazy and careless attitude; 2). If the work was not completed in an efficient manner; 3). If work had to be re-done.

5) A maximum of THREE hours of work per day will be allotted. Anything over three hours a day will not be honored without prior approval from Pastor Josh.

6) All timesheets must be turned in after the day’s work. If a student hangs on to the timesheets you may not receive your camp money even though you worked (if we run over budget in the meantime).

Thank you for your understanding and prayer for the church budget and for the youth of our church. It is an honor and privilege to serve here at Oregon City Evangelical Church. We want to make sure that the funds set aside for our camp scholarships are put to good use. God is good and has been doing amazing things among our youth. . We hope that you understand the need to be rigid with our policies concerning camp hours and at the same time support the idea of teaching responsibility within the students.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call, email or text me.

In Him,
