Camp HASC

Camp HASC – Hebrew Academy for Special Children - is a unique summer program providing over 300 children and adults with a range of intellectual and physical disabilities the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable, seven week sleep-over Summer camp experience of a lifetime. Camp HASC provides our special campers an inspiring summer experience, comparable to those of their siblings and friends, and provides much needed respite and relief for their parents and families.

Located in the scenic Catskill Mountains of Upstate New York, Camp HASC provides unparalleled service in its unique synthesis of academic, therapeutic and recreational programming. For over 40 years, we have sought to maximize and enable the development of each individual’s potential by providing special education, speech, physical, occupational and music therapies, as well as computer instruction, adaptive physical education, aquatics and an array of sensory appropriate activities.

Campers receive world-class, Occupational, Physical, Speech & Music Therapy, tailored to meet their individual needs and assigned mandates. The combination of an incredible range of therapeutic activities, a dedicated, professional staff, as well as after-hours therapeutic carry-over in bunkhouses, at the pool and all around campus, enables our campers to reach goals beyond their parents’ and schools’ imagination and expectations.

The Medical Department of Camp HASC – a team of close to 30 doctors, nurses, paramedics, emergency professionals and support staff, carefully and proactively support the health and wellbeing of our campers and staff, 24 hours a day, every day of the summer.

The increasingly intensive and often complex medical conditions of our camper population has created a greater demand for additional medical personnel, equipment and resources to help us appropriately provide for their needs, and further expand our services.

Located in the heart of our campus and integrated into the daily camp schedule, our Academic Program meets the personal needs of each student as prescribed by their State Education Department Individualized Educational Program, enabling remarkable growth in and out of the classroom!
