The 2018 season saw the Pioneers finish with an 18-13 record and earn a return trip to the Lone Star Conference Tournament for the second straight year. The season ended with Katy Ranes becoming the fourth student-athlete in program

There, he guided the Tornado to an 18-11 overall record for a third-place finish in the North Division of the Conference Carolinas.
Two years prior, he was the head coach at Randall Univrersity where he
turned the program around, tripling its win total in the first season before ending his tenure with a 26-13 record.
Coach Ulrich joined TWU in 2017 after spending four years as an assistant coach at the University of Montevallo, helping the Falcons to two 20-win seasons.
Before Montevallo, Ulrich spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville.
A four-year member of the volleyball program at Arkansas Tech, Ulrich became the fourth player in program history to record 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs. During her tenure, the Golden Suns compiled a 121-27 overall record, claimed three conference tournament championships, and earned a bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
