Stormwater Pollution Prevention
Storm drains in City of Kirkland discharge directly to the nearest wetland, stream, or lake without any treatment.
Pollutants such as F.O.G., soapy wash water (including biodegradable soaps), and chemicals are prohibited discharges (KMC 15.52).
All F.O.G. must be handled and disposed/recycled properly: • Collect all waste F.O.G.
• Store in leak-proof container with tight-fitting lid
• Proper disposal/recycling is vendor responsibility
• Kirkland will provide 55-gallon drums, as an emergency disposal option
