    already receive reduced fire insurance rates. This accreditation expands the coverage area of homes around Stations 1, 3 and 5 that may be eligible for reduced rates. Homes near Stations 2 and 4 do not benefit from tanker shuttle accreditation.

    Q. What is an approved water supply? A. An approved water supply can provide adequate and reliable water supply

    every day of the year to extinguish fires in the municipality, particular buildings or building groups. This is defined in the National Fire Prevention Associations (NFPA) 1142 Standard on Water Supplies for Suburban and Rural Fire Fighting.     Q. How did Strathcona County receive this accreditation? A: Strathcona County Emergency Services applied for this accreditation

    through a rigorous testing process that measures the requirements for hydrant protection, as set out by the insurance industry. The Superior Tanker Shuttle Service enables emergency responders to extinguish a fire at a faster rate. Strathcona County is the first municipality in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba to receive this accreditation.
