Dear Parent,

Greetings from The Gaudium International School!

13 August, 2019 was a remarkable and memorable day for The Gaudium International School. The Vision of The Gaudium School has come alive with the launch of The Gaudium Sportopia – India’s first integrated Residential Sports School. Very shortly a vast array of sports will be offered with world-class facilities to students and others.

At the Gaudium, we train the students of the sports academy, to help strike the right balance between academics and sports. This requires a team approach to achieve it. With the right help, guidance and communication from all the stakeholders involved, the students can benefit from playing a sport, while still enjoying a quality academic experience by prioritizing their interests and steering their lives towards the right direction.

Every student has great potential, unique strengths and interests. We believe that, it is our duty as a school, to add value to each student, by helping him/her achieve academic success and the joy of learning in an inclusive community in which all our students, parents and staff feel challenged, valued and successful.

Young students need enthusiastic teaching, expert coaching and inspirational support to achieve their physical best. This academy helps students of all abilities to achieve their very best.

While academic staff help sports academy students to do their best in academics with all special provisions given by the various boards – CBSE, CAIE and IB, our sports coaches orient students to the game, sportsmanship, fair play and commitment. Enjoyment will come through learning, from the thrill of competition and working with their teammates in achieving a common goal.

Apart from this, we also focus on refining the character, attitude and sharpen the sense of teamwork which are every bit as important as developing skills and fitness.

There are many research findings which highlight that students who balance both sports and academics are better focused, organized, disciplined and manage their time wisely.

Balancing sports and academics is difficult, but it is possible with commitment and a right attitude to maintain stellar quality in both, which is certainly worth it!

TEACHER’S CORNER


‘Nothing teaches us better than our experiences’. Providing enriching educational experiences for the geckos has been one of the top priorities of The Gaudium. ASK Talk, a panel discussion forum, which will showcase four seasons, is one such initiative that ascertains manifold life experiences to complement the gecko’s classroom learning. The uniqueness of the forum is that it allows the geckos to engage in candid conversations with expert panellist speakers from different spheres of work. The season 1 of ASK Talk was held on 26 August at The Gaudium campus. It began with Nextgen addressing GenNext! Yes, you heard me right, three IGCSE toppers from a reputed school in town interacted with the geckos of Grades 9 and 10 CAIE. The objectives of the panel were to equip the geckos with the necessary inputs that may help them sit the IGCSE examination with great confidence and successful exam preparation. While the event saw an array of critical questions ranging from the examination preparation to subject specific content knowledge being flung at the young panellists, the meticulousness of the answers and the clarity of thoughts were worthy of lavish applause.As educators, we inevitably face the perpetual challenge of keeping a class fresh and interactive. ASK Talk, I genuinely feel, satiates the contemporary learner, who is ever hungry for variety in inputs and resources. Watching the enthused geckos interacting with the panellists, who answered the queries with equal gusto, reinstated the virtue of how success stories of the road trodden by someone helps pave the pathway to excellence for another. It was just another plunge into learning beyond the textbooks and routine classroom transactions. The keenness of purpose at both ends vouches for the success of the event.A widened perspective, a different approach to a routine entity and an appreciation to the strategic value of time come as the consequences of Session 1 of the ASK Talk, rightly titled as ‘Recreating Excellence’.We couldn’t be asking for more!
