Home- assignmen t (traditionally called urlough”) has a multiaceted purpose or us: 1. Rest and Renewal – Living in a oreign culture is usu- ally accompanied by certain stresses that never ully go away. Returning to one’s home culture can be a helpul break or mis- sionaries, bringing needed renewal and perspective, enabling us to be rereshed, and ready to serve again.  2. Reconnecting with Family and Friends – Probably the hardest aspect o being on the mission feld is b eing away rom amily and riends. Home assignment is a wonderul time to make memories with loved ones, to treasure when miles separate us. 3. Reporting to Churches and Supporters – While writing newsletters and emails is a great way to communicate, meet- ing ace-to-ace is an essential part o sharing in the ministry together, or mutual encouragement and joy. 4. Raising Awareness and Support – We are passionate about many projects and ministries in Cambodia, and we want to spread that passion, seeking to partner together in bringing the Gospel to Cambodia and beyond! Raising fnance s is also a necessary part o our ministry—or various projects as well as personal support or our amily. While on home-assignment we seek to widen our support base to urther the ministry that we have in Cambodia. 5. Recruitment – We want to see more people raised up to serve the Lord in overseas missio ns, and specifcally in Cambo- dia. So, part o our goal on home-assignment is to meet with possible recruits, to encourage them in their passion or mis- sions, and to be used as a catalyst to bring more workers into the vast harvest. We are exci ted to see many of you dur- ing this upcoming home assignment, to catch up, and to rejoice in what the Lord is doing in all o our lives.  jul-aug 2013 ACTION USA • PO Box 398, Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043-0398 • Tel. 425-775-4800 • [email protected] ACTION Canada • 3015A 21 Street NE, Calgary, Alberta T2E 7T1 403-204-1421 • [email protected] ACTION New Zealand • PO Box 8928, Christchurch 8440 • Tel. 011-643-341-0933 • [email protected] ACTION Website: www.actioninternational.org ACTION United Kingdom • PO Box 144, Wallasey, Wirral CH44 5WE • Tel. 011-151-630-2451 • [email protected] • UK Registered Charity 1058661  Email: [email protected]  Blog: www. wellsincambodia.com | Phone: 408-350-5895 Website: www.actioncambodia.org   Ava and Paton Because He lives, HOME ASSIGNMENT DATES OCT. 8TH-JAN. 21ST
