ROMYDA KEITH

Fashion designer Romyda Keth was born in Cambodia and settled in France in 1973. After studying at Ecole des Beaux Arts de Paris and Esmod School of Fashion Design, she began showing her creations in a small boutique. Over the years, she has built a discerning and loyal clientele with her distinct style aesthetic.

In 1994, she returned to her roots in Cambodia. The early years were unstable in the country, but Romyda’s clients in Paris still clamored for her creations. Once a makeshift workshop was set up in a little corner of her home, Romyda began designing her women’s wear line using local embroidery techniques with the diversity of colors and high quality Khmer silk and organza.

In 1999 Romyda opened her first boutique, Ambre. Located in the heart of Phnom Penh, the French colonial mansion is filled with thoughtful-ly arranged garments that display her feminine style and harmonious blend of shades. Elegant without sacrifice to detail, each unique gar-ment is designed to fit the curves and highlight the figure.

As of 2006, her “Romyda Keth” clothing label is being marketed in Pa-ris, Tokyo, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, La Réunion, Mexico and Chile.

ERIC RAISINA

Eric Raisina has mastered the art of texture. His creations are unique and exquisite pieces that move elegantly with the subtlety of a quiet breeze. Throughout his career, he has committed himself to experimenting with techniques to create textures using delicate silks, raffia, and linen ranging from warm neutrals to vivid tropical tones reminiscent of his birthplace, Madagascar.

Along the way, the French-educated designer (who worked as a trainee for Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Lacroix) has attracted designer Lou-lou de la Falaise, the muse of Yves Saint Laurent, among his fans.

After all the inspiration and exploration into different cultures he has em-braced Cambodia as his home namely for it’s silk, where the technique of weaving and hand dyeing methods have been perfected during many centuries.

“ TRAVELER “ is the main inspiration for his Spring/Summer 2013 collec-tion, sophisticated ready to wear pieces with the mix of Eric’s signature silk texture and noble fabrics.

SANTO NERO

After an increasing demand to reproduce their personal collection of bu-siness wear, designers Nacho and Attilio decided to take the jump and create their brand, Santo Nero. Their collection is inspired by quality, de-tails, Italian design, and a touch of Spanish “madness”.

Designed with the “gentleman of the 21st century” in mind, the priority from design to production is the quality of each detailed component. All materials are imported from Italy and Japan and are manufactured at their own workshop where they closely monitor production. The end product results in a limited run. “Mainly, our products are original.

We produce only 10 copies of each design. We concentrate on the unique-ness. And it is not only highly appreciated by the Vietnamese public but also the international market. Our designs reflect our style, which we turn

anyway in the objective that the public can appreciate it.”

A clothing designer from Roxas City, Philip-pines, Don Protasio has called Cambodia home since 2008, two years after deciding to actively pursue fashion. He now has a works-hop and boutique called Poetry located in Siem Reap where you can find his latest col-lections. His pieces display his predilection for drapery and layers that offer dimension to his mostly black, grey, and neutral color pallet.
