CAMBIUM NETWORKS
2
Tier 1 and 2 Service Provider Applications using PTP
• LTE Small-cell backhaul– Malaysia
• Enterprise Access– Philippines
• Temporary Deployment – Events and Capacity/Coverage– Canada and United States
3
Benefits
• Rapid deployment without the time associated with trenching
• Attractive return on investment
• Bird’s eye management view of the entire end to end network.
• Rapidly expand the network to connect selected customers
4
Tier 1 Operator: Malaysia
• Objectives:– Low-cost, rapidly deployed small-cell coverage and capacity
• Objectives/Key Requirements– No trenching/cable installations (rapid deployment)
– nLoS/NLOS
– High capacity (200+ Mbps)
– Low packet loss (even with small packets)
– 1km or less (street-level in urban environments)
• Key Requirements

Results of Testing
• PTP 670 provided coverage for LOS, nLOS and NLOS conditions up to 1km from street level deployment.
• PTP670 covers effectively for both diffractive and reflective NLOS conditions.
• PTP670 is met Digi’s minimum requirement capacity, latency and frame loss below 0.005% at various deployment conditions (12 x Test points)
• Throughput tests are also shown exhibiting no frame loss at any frame length tested.
9
Tier 1 Wireline Operator: Philippines
• Objectives:– Enterprise Access
– Competitive threats from mobile operators
– Needed faster turn-up times for enterprise customers
– nLOS / NLOS
• Objectives/Key Requirements– Developed a set of standard offerings around PTP 650/670
– Trained enterprise sales team
– Engaged services team for LINKPlanner and quick-turn feasibility assessment
10
Tier 2 Operator: United States
• Objectives:– Rapid Deployment for Concert Event
– 20,000 fans attending one-night event
– Enterprise Services requested for Mission-Critical Voice Communications• Video, voice, data
– 5 Mbps required
• Link parameters– Deployed within two weeks
– End-one: Non-penetrating roof-mount on operations building with fiber connection
– End-tow: 10m wooden pole mast with bucket truck installation
– 16 kilometers NLOS (trees and terrain)
– 60 Mbps
11
Tier 1 Mobile Operator: Canada
• Applications:– Rapid Deployment to extend coverage/capacity where fiber isn’t
– Disaster Recovery for mobile tower outages
– Event Coverage
– > 200 Mbps
• Program– Purchased a floating pool of 100 PTP 650’s
– Deployed in PTP or HCMP configurations
– Purchased 6 quick deploy positioners for their vehicle masts
– Part of their written disaster recovery program
