April 20, 2012 On Sunday, July 29, 2012, the Camas/Washougal Aviation Association (CWAA) will be hosting our 3 rd annual Aviation Career Day held at Grove Field in Camas, Washington (1W1) from 11 am to 4 pm and we invite your participation. The focus of Aviation Career Day will be on youth and careers in aviation and we’ll be providing tables for your aviation school, college, university, or airline to set up an informational booth. This is an excellent opportunity for parents and youth throughout Clark County to meet inspiring career professionals and learn of possibilities in aviation. All ages of the public are invited to attend. Past participants in this event have included representatives from the Air Force and Naval Academies, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Spokane Falls Community College, University of Portland and AFROTC, Central Washington University, Portland Community College and Hillsboro Aviation, Alaska Airlines, Pearson Air Museum and FAA/NATCA. To help draw the public to the airport the CWAA will be offering airplane rides for $20 and a $6 Deluxe BBQ Hamburger lunch, proceeds from which go to the CWAA Scholarships Program for young aviators. The CWAA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. To ensure the likelihood of favorable weather and increased attendance we have aligned the date of this year’s event with our local celebration of Camas Days which runs from Friday, July 27 through Saturday, July 28. We are sending this letter to you because we would like your help and participation. Please contact one of our planning committee members as soon as possible. Sincerely, Neil Cahoon 2011-12 President, Camas Washougal Aviation Association PS. The Port of Camas/Washougal has donated in the past up to $1000 in AVGAS reimbursement to the pilots providing aircraft for airplane rides and we would greatly appreciate volunteer pilots.
