A three-day workshop on Emerging and Post CMOS Technology will be held at Indian

Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, Howrah 711103 during June 16-

18, 2014.

ObjectiveoftheCourseThe objective of this course is to give an exposure on emerging and postCMOS technique for

efficientdesignofcomputersystem.

Advances inVLSItechnologyanduseofnew fabricationprocessesoverthe last fewdecadeshave

rendered heat dissipation problem more complex in deepsubmicron integrated circuits (IC). To

encountertheseproblems,somealternativetechnologiesareneededtodesigninformationlossless

circuits.

1) Theinherentenergylossresultingfromthe irreversibilityofinformationprocessingmaybemitigated by implementing reversibility, which is information lossless. New methods and

techniquesfor

the

design

of

so

called

reversible

quantum

circuits

would

be

discussed.

2) The emerging technology like CNT/3DIC might find promising applications in the highlyenergyefficient computer chips. The design of CNT /Graphene /FinFET based device and

interconnectswouldbediscussedinthisworkshop.

Nature of the Participants:Preferably faculty members from Universities and Govt. / Private

Engineering colleges. A limited number of seats are available for research scholars and

students who have completed ME / MTech.
