BEAUTIFUL SEWEWEEKSPOORT - Almost directly opposite the turn-off to Amalienstein, a 21km road heads into the Klein Swartberg to Seweweekspoort. It is 17km long and very
rugged, the scenery wild and frequently the slopes or spurs of the mountain leave a narrow pass just broad enough for the stream to find a passage, while precipices of naked
rock tower like walls on both sides.

The POP UP SHOP has opened (Thursday 5th
Dec) and is starting to look really fantastic thanks to Judy with her eye for interesting collectables & her experience with displaying them in the most appealing manner! We urgently need people to work in the shop from Saturday. If you are interested in working in the shop there is a roster available to be filled in at Die Handelshuis. Please note the
payment will be 15% of any sales you make. I think this is a nice opportunity to socialise with locals and holidaymakers or catch up with a bit of reading - if its quiet, whilst making some extra money; so please pop in before Friday and put your name down for a shift or a day. The shop will be open from Thursday 5
th Dec to Saturday 11
th Jan 2014.

Die noodhulp kursusse sal Noodhulp 1 en Noodhulp 3 wees.

aftrek sal kry.

o Yarn Bombing
Yarn bombing, yarnbombing, yarn storming, guerrilla knitting, urban
knitting orgraffiti knitting, is a type of graffiti or street art that employs
colourful displays ofknitted or crocheted yarn or fibre rather than paint or
chalk. While yarn installations – called yarn bombs or yarnstorms – may
last for years, they are considered non-permanent, and, unlike other forms
of graffiti, can be easily removed if necessary. While other forms of
graffiti may be expressive, decorative, territorial, socio-political
commentary, advertising or vandalism, yarn bombing was initially almost
exclusively about reclaiming and personalizing sterile or cold public
places. It has since developed with groups graffiti knitting and crocheting
worldwide, each with their own agendas and public graffiti knitting
projects being run.
Ons wil graag so gou moontlik met hierdie projek begin sodat ons tydens
die Portfees 2014 'n pragtig kleurvolle dorp kan hê. Mandjies wol met
breinaalde en hekelpenne sal oral in gastehuise en restaurante beskikbaar
wees vir gaste wat graag wil deel in ons projek. Meer inligting sal

en ons hoop om 150 skoendose uit te gee. Baie dankie aan
die N.G. Kerk wat klaar 31 bokse geneem het, VLV 16,
ACVV, Calitzdorp Hoerskool 25 en hope ander inwoners,
te veel om by name te noem. Sover is 97 bokse belowe en
ons moet nog mense kry wat die ander 53+ kan help vol
maak. Het u al u boks by ons kom afhaal?

Who is Dolly Parton
Dolly Rebecca Parton (born January 19, 1946) is an American singer-songwriter, multi-
instrumentalist, actress, author, and philanthropist, best known for her work incountry

Beginning her career as a child performer, Parton issued a few modestly successful
singles from 1959 through the mid-1960s, showcasing her distinctive soprano voice. She

Mnr Nelson Mandela tydens 'n besoek aan Calitzdorp saam met Piet van Rensburg en 'n oud Calitzdorper,
Anina Laubscher, op 16 Augustus 1999. Hoe begrawe 'n mens iemand wat 'n impak op byna elke wêreld leier gehad het. Hoe vat 'n mens saam in woorde watter impak hy op die lewe gehad het. Hoe onthou mens iemand wat byna 'n derde van sy lewe in 'n tronk was terwyl sy enigste oortreding was om te vra dat sy mense vry moet wees en wie selfs met sy vrylating geen haat vir die mense ingehou het wat dit aan hom gedoen het nie. Op Donderdag, 5 Desember 2013 om 8:50pm, het Mnr Mandela hierdie wêreld verlaat in 'n veel beter staat as wat hy dit gevind het. Elke lewende president wie die begrafnis kan bywoon sal. Oprah Winfrey word verwag. Prins William en Kate gaan dit bywoon asook miljoene ander wie se lewens aangeraak is. Hierdie massiewe gebeurtenis van wêreldwye rou, sal die World Cup laat klein lyk. Mnr Mandela se wyse woorde, is een van die vele maniere waarop hy onthou sal word:

Metode:
Meng alles goed saam.
Bak 17 minute op medium (in 'n ronde bak met 'n glas in die
middel)
Bak 4 minute op hoog.
Bak nog 2 minute op hoog as dit nog nat is.

African Spoonbill
The African Spoonbill (Platalea alba) is a long-legged wading bird of the ibis andspoonbill family Threskiornithidae. The species is
widespread across Africa andMadagascar, including Botswana, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. It lives
in marshy wetlands with some open shallow water and nests in colonies in trees or reedbeds. They usually don't share colonies
with storks or herons. The African Spoonbill feeds in shallow water, and fishes for various fish, molluscs,
amphibians, crustaceans, insects and larvae. The animal uses its open bill to catch foods by swinging it from side-to-side in the water,
which catches foods in its mouth. Long legs and thin, pointed toes enable it to walk easily through varying depths of water.
The African Spoonbill is almost unmistakable through most of its range. The breeding bird is all white except for its red legs and face
and long grey spatulate bill. It has no crest, unlike the Common Spoonbill. Immature birds lack the red face and have a yellow bill.
Unlike herons, spoonbills fly with their necks outstretched.
BREEDING
The African Spoonbill begins breeding in the winter, which lasts until spring. The spoonbill's nest, generally located in trees above
water, is built from sticks and reeds and lined with leaves. Three to five eggs are laid by the female birds, usually during the months
of April or May. The eggs are incubated by both parents for up to 29 days, and upon hatching the young birds are cared for by both
parents for around 20 to 30 days. ] The birds are ready to leave the nest soon afterward, and begin flying after another four weeks.
The African Spoonbill is one of the species to which the Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory
Waterbirds (AEWA) applies.
