Course Description:Advanced problems in the design and technology of live and recorded sound used in the performing arts. May be repeated for credit. (6 hours activity)

Course Goals:To achieve an advance understanding of stage audio and sound design. To learn the advance topics of sound design for a production using editing and show control software. To complete a sound design portfolio piece.

Attendance:! Every unexcused absence after three unexcused absences will result in the ! lowering of course grade one letter. Please email the Instructor if you will be ! absent. If you have an unexcused absence the instructor will not hold a make ! up session, you are responsible for the missed information.

Late work: ! Late work will be penalized by 15% for each week late unless there is prior ! approval from the Instructor. No work will be accepted after 12pm on Thursday of ! finals week.

Materials:! 1 USB drive at least 4 GB is required to save your projects.

Audio Lab Usage:! The Adv. Audio Lab schedule and user sign up times are on google calendar. You ! will need to add an event with your name and for entry and access to the audio ! work station. Key access information will be posted on Titanium.

Technology:! This class requires the use of Mac os 10.6+ and Windows XP and specific sound ! software. Software includes : Qlab (Mac), Garageband (Mac), Logic (Mac), iPad ! and iPod, SFX (6, Windows), and Pro Tools (both). Remember technology can fail, ! save often.

University policies:! Issues of classroom demeanor, grading, dishonesty etc. will be dealt with ! according to pertinent University Policy Statement (UPS): 300.004 Policy on !
