NORTHERN CALIFORNIA The Golden Gate Bridge and certain other California tollways are all-electronic and do not accept cash or credit card for toll payment at the time of use. Customers who drive on the Golden Gate Bridge can make payments by: 1. Accepting the PlatePass service at the rental counter; 2. Using their own transponder that is fully-funded, properly mounted, and compatible with the tollway; 3. Paying the toll authority directly online, by phone, or in person (at various locations) up to 30 days prior to crossing the bridge or within 48 hours after crossing. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Rental customers who use the tollways have the option to pay for tolls directly by using the toll authority website’s “One-Time-Toll” payment option within 5 days after toll occurrence. For more information, see www.thetollroads.com.
*Cash payments are not accepted on these tollways and bridges.
