A note from Mary

Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, the New Year…. It has all come and gone so quickly. I

am approaching a year as the ‘New’ owner of Calico Station at warp speed and I can’t begin

to express how much work and FUN it has been. I have meet so many wonderful people, it’s

amazing. I look forward to the lasting friendships I have built and all the fun and exciting

things we have coming up in 2015—I can’t wait share them with you.

Beginning Quilting—9 Patch and Snowball $45.00 February 9, 16 & 23 6:00-8:00pm Sandi Cooksey Let’s learn how to begin quilt by making a cute lap/twin size quilt. If you do not know how to start, I will show you all the secrets. If you just want to come and make the quilt with us, please do. This is a 3-part class for beginners.

To Tom With Love $30.00 January 14th 10:00-2:30 Louise Thewes This is a pointy star block created using the Tri-Recs Ruler. The pattern was created by Martha Bainbridge, so guess who Tom is. I used a fat quarter pack to create mine.

Take 9 fat quarters and a little yardage and you’ll have this lap quilt whipped out in no time. You can easily make this smaller or bigger which makes it a great project to keep on your favorite pattern shelf.

Twisted Log Cabin $35.00 February 12th & 19th 6:00-8:00 Kathy Pawlowski Another Eleanor Burns quilt using her Won-ky Ruler. Goes together fast and makes up a different kind of Log Cabin Quilt.

Weekender Bag $45.00 February 21 & 22 10:00-2:00 Louise Thewes This stylish bag has two large pockets on the inside. One is divided and the other has a zipper. It’s a perfect overnight bag and will keep all your belongings organized. You may embellish the outer bag as desired.

Clothing Construction $45.00 February 8th & 15th 12:30-4:30 Louise Thewes Want to learn to make clothing for yourself? This class is for you. This classic shirt, long sleeve or short sleeve can be made with sev-eral fabrics or all the same fabric. It is a great shirt that can also be worn over another top or alone. The one I chose for class is the Blue Pieced Shirt design. This is a 2-part class.

Paper Piecing Mariner’s Star Pillow $30.00 January 17th 10:00-2:00 Louise Thewes Learn how to paper piece and create all those complex perfect points. Pattern is a free download and will be available in class.

Serendipity I & II $45.00 January 20th, 27th, & February 3rd 6:00-8:00 Kathy Pawlowski This class uses another one of the Missouri Star Block Books. It’s a 3 week class but you are going to get 2 quilts out of this class, so there will not be a lot of waste. How cool is that?

Ships At Sea $15.00 February 13th 10:00-1:00 Starr Carson Bring the calm serenity of an ocean voyage into your sewing room with this sampling of seagoing vessels. The patriotic prints are sure to complement any home decor, but don’t be surprised when this summer quilt becomes a family favorite.

Modern Millie Quilt $25.00 February 10th 10:00-2:00 Cheryl Craig Using fat quarters and a background, cre-ate a modern quilt. This quilt has very gen-tle curves, easy to sew, and blocks are trimmed to size. We will make one or more blocks in class to learn to use the ruler.

Circle Pillow $20.00 January 22nd 1:00-4:00 Cheryl Craig Use your new sew steady table with the circular sewing kit or a circular sewing attachment for your sewing machine to make a decorative pillow.

Tapestry $30.00 January 15th 10:00-1:00 Sandi Cooksey A great little quilt that reminds me of a field of flowers; made from only 8 fat quarters and some background. Require accurate cutting but is simple to sew. It’s time to use that “Angular II” template again to make your corners. This quilt can be crib size all the way to a king size.

Sometimes Stars Quilt $25.00 February 16th 10:00-2:00 Nancy Wines Hexagon quilts are hot! This versatile pattern lets you use fabrics from your stash for a scrappy look or use a favorite color as the focal point. Large pieces cut with tem-plates make the piecing and sewing a breeze. Were sure you’ll want to make more quilts using hexies in the future!

Square Dance $15.00 January 16th 10:00-1:00 Starr Carson Snuggle up on cold winter nights with ‘Square Dance’, a perfectly easy, small lap quilt. Use florals, novelties or flannels. Done in pastels ‘ Square Dance’ is a ‘quick-to-sew’ baby quilt.

Binding 101 $35.00 January 31st 1:00-4:30 Now that you have your quilt done and quilted, you need to bind it. This class will show you how to make your simple binding and then attach to your quilt.

MODA Club $75.00 January 3rd 9:00-10:00 February 7th 9:00-10:00 We are kicking off our MODA Club. What is MODA club? Well…. It’s EVERYTHING MODA. $75.00 for a 6th mth. membership gets you a charm pack of each of the MODA lines we order plus 10% off anything MODA. BOM—Baskets In Bloom 12 Month—As the name implies, this is an applique quilt full of baskets and blooms. It will look great as a scrap quilt. $20.00 per month
