DESCRIPTION
The Child Witness Court Preparation Program is designed to provide direct assistance to the increasing number of children being called upon to testify in court proceedings. The needs of child witnesses are primarily addressed in group settings. Each group consists of two sessions requiring the commitment of both the child and an adult who will support the child in court.

Qualified FacilitatorsOur facilitators all have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (generally in social work or psychology) and many have a Masters Degree. Most are either duly appointed child welfare workers for the province of Alberta or have been employed in child welfare previously. This ensures that workers are well trained in the importance of preserving a clean, uncontaminated investigation.
CHILDREN’S WEBSITESuperhero IslandSuperhero Island is an online website created to prepare children to testify in court. Children will enjoy the game-like environment as they learn the knowledge and skills to do their best in court while earning accessories to become their own Superhero.
