READMISSION PACKETS/NEW STUDENT TESTINGReadmission packets were due back in the office on February 12. The entrance exam for newstudents is this week and we will begin offering positions to our new applicants next week. Familieswho have not turned in their packet, or spoken with Mrs. Glaser, will be in jeopardy of losing theirspots for next year.
GO WESTERN DAYFriday, February 26, will be Go Texan Day. Students may wear appropriate western type clothes butNO boots, hats, or play guns. Blue jeans may be worn but NO shorts. For the girls, jean pants arepreferred; skirts are acceptable but must reach the knee. STUDENTS MAY WEAR THEIR WESTERNCLOTHES TO MASS.
CONGRATULATIONSCongratulations to the STM Robotics Team of Joshua Porter, Brendan Early, Lena Shadow, MatthewFernandez, Roman Ochoa, and Darian Tenio. The team competed in the 2016 First Lego League LoneStar South Texas - Gold Championship Tournament on Saturday, February 20, 2016. The STM RoboticsTeam had the fifth highest score in the robot competition of 75 teams, won the 1st place InnovativeSolutions Award and the Global Innovations Award. GO TECHNO TIGERS!!!

PARKING LOT SAFETYPlease do not drop your child/children off in front of the church and ask them to walk across theparking lot. The few minutes that this might save in your morning is not worth the safety of any ofour students. WE HAD A NEAR MISS IN THE PARKING LOT THIS WEEK!
STM SCHOOL AND KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS JOINT PROJECT:WHEELCHAIR MISSION FOR VETERANSOnce again this year STM School is joining with the Knights of Columbus to raise money for theWheelchair Mission. This important organization provides wheelchairs to American veterans of allwars. Come out on Fridays during Lent to enjoy a great dinner, purchase sodas or make a donation tohelp us with this project. Also please consider volunteering at a Fish Fry on Friday nights as we canuse adults as well as students. Contact Mrs. Warner ([email protected]) or Mrs. Felton([email protected]) to volunteer.
ANNUAL STUDENT TALENT SHOWSTM’s annual student talent show will be April 8th in the new gym. The show will be open tostudents in 5th through 8th grade. Start working on your talent ( singing, dancing, acting, gymnastics,etc.) so you will be ready for auditions on March 21st The show will be limited to 15 acts that will bechosen from the auditions. This is a show NOT a contest! Watch upcoming memo’s for additionalinformation.
VIRTUS TRAINING and REFRESHER COURSEVIRTUS, the National Protecting God’s Children Child Abuse Prevention Program, is required of anyvolunteer who will spend time supervising the children of St. Thomas More School. This includes, butis not limited to, room parents, recess duty workers, clinic volunteers, and chaperones. You mayregister for the program at www.virtus.org. Classes are offered at various times and locationsthroughout the archdiocese.
Please note: IMPORTANT VIRTUS NEWS ....A one and a half hour refresher course called Keeping thePromise Alive is now required of anyone who took VIRTUS prior to February 22, 2011. To register forKeeping the Promise Alive go to www.virtus.org - be very careful when registering that you are notregistering for Protecting God’s Children. A REFRESHER COURSE IS BEING OFFERED AT STM ONSATURDAY, MARCH 12 AT 10:00 AM. You must register online to attend this course.
ARCHDIOCESAN MOTHER-DAUGHTER PROGRAMTHE MOTHER-DAUGHTER PROGRAM will be held on Saturday, March 5 from 2:00 - 4:30 pm; sign-in:1:30 pm. at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 7810 Cypresswood Dr., Spring, TX. 77379. Theprogram is for girls ages 9-12 and their mothers or significant mother-figure. The program fosters anatmosphere of love and understanding in discussing God’s plan for the gift of human sexuality and thechallenges of living chastely.Program fee: $40/family includes refreshments and take-home resources.Registration is limited to 50 families for each program.
