THE TEEN KITCHEN PROJECTThe Teen Kitchen Project, under the leadership and guidance of founder and executive director Angela Farley, is a nonprofit organization that brings young people into the kitchen to learn to cook delicious and nourishing food. The meals they prepare are delivered free of charge to individuals and families throughout Santa Cruz County, who are in crisis due to a life-threatening illness like cancer. The teens gain skills in cooking healthy food, learn about the impact of their food choices, and are offered an opportunity to build connections through community service. Since September 2012, they have served over 22,447 meals to families in crisis due to illness, and teens have donated over 3,000 service hours.
The Teen Kitchen Project operates on Monday and Tuesday afternoons out of a commercial kitchen in Soquel, and is supported through donations from the community. To learn more visit http://www.teenkitchenproject.org or call 831-316-4540
