Welcome to AIISH – From the Desk of the Director
The All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) is a premier Institute offering programmes related
to communication disorders. AIISH was established in the year 1966, fully funded by the Ministry of
Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The major objectives of the Institute are man power
generation in the area of communication and its disorders, rendering clinical services, conducting research
and educating the public on issues related to communication disorders.
The Institute, with the aim of capacity building in the area of communication disorders, offers 18
programmes. These include three diploma programmes [Diploma in Hearing Aid & Ear mould
Technology, Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education (Hearing Impairment) and Diploma in
Hearing Language and Speech-through video conferencing mode]; two undergraduate programmes
[Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (B.ASLP) and Bachelor of Education Special
Education (Hearing Impairment)]; five PG Diploma programmes [Augmentative and Alternative
Communication, Clinical Linguistics, Forensic Speech Sciences and Technology and Neuroaudiology];
three post graduate programmes M.Sc. (Speech-Language Pathology), [M.Sc. (Audiology) and M.Ed. Spl.
Ed. (Hearing Impairment)]. In addition, it offers four Ph.D. programmes [Audiology, Speech-Language
Pathology, Speech and Hearing, Special Education and Linguistics] and Post-Doctoral Fellowship.
Situated in a lush green campus of 30 acres adjacent to the University of Mysore in Manasagangothri,
Mysuru, Karnataka, it is a unique Institute in the Asian sub-continent. Its eleven departments/centres and
well equipped Library and Information Centre contribute to its uniqueness. These departments/centres
have state-of-the-art facilities to offer inter-disciplinary training to the students.
AIISH caters to clients of all ages having a whole range of communication disorders. The institute attracts
students from all over India and abroad. It has strived in the past 54 years in furthering the cause of
professions of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology throughout the country and more recently in
the area of Special Education. The enthusiasm to excel in reaching out to individuals with communication
disorders knows no boundaries. The institute has been recognized as a Centre of Excellence in the area of
Deafness by WHO, as a Centre for Advanced Research and College with Potential for Excellence by
UGC, as a Science and Technology Institute by DSIR, DST and as a Centre of Excellence by the Ministry
of Health & Family Welfare. AIISH also accredited by NAAC with highest A Grade and ISO 9001:2015
certified. The institute has been recognized as a Nodal Centre for the implementation of National
Programme for Prevention and Control of Deafness, and Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram of Ministry
of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Till date, around 2000 students have enrolled for
undergraduate programmes and 1500 for postgraduate programmes at AIISH. In addition, 100 doctoral
degrees in Speech and Hearing / Speech-Language Pathology / Audiology have been awarded under the
able guidance of the faculty of the institute. Further, in order to keep up with the changing trends across
the world, the faculty undergo short-term and long-term training, and faculty enrichment programme.
The AIISH Alumni Association serves as a forum for exchange of ideas and social interaction with its past
students. AIISH is proud of its alumni who occupy important positions in academic, clinical and
administrative setups not only in India but also in different parts of the world. They have made us proud

I Diploma Programmes
The Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), New Delhi has introduced the online admission
process from the year 2018. Therefore, the applicants for admission to Diploma in Hearing Aid & Ear
Mould Technology (DHA&ET), Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education (Hearing
Impairment) (DECSE (HI) and Diploma in Hearing Language and Speech (DHLS) are hereby
informed to apply online through Rehabilitation Council of India website
(www.rehabcouncil.nic.in). The availability of online application form for online registration is
notified by the Rehabilitation Council of India. .
Further, the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) shall conduct an “All India Online Aptitude
Test (AIOAT)” for admission to Diploma/Certificate level courses for the academic session 2020-21.
Accordingly, admissions to Diploma/Certificate programmes of RCI will only be taken from amongst
the candidates who qualify aforesaid on-line test of RCI.
1. Diploma in Hearing Aid and Ear Mould Technology (DHA & ET)
(Recognized by RCI)
Duration of the Programme : One year
Total number of Seats : 28
This programme aims at training the students in the maintenance and repair of hearing aids and
preparation of ear mould technology. The focus is more on practical training and the student trainees
are given hands-on experience in the repair of different types of hearing aids and preparation of ear
moulds.
Admission Eligibility
1. Admission to Diploma in Hearing Aid and Ear mould Technology is open to candidates who
have passed 12th standard / II PUC with Physics or Electronics as one of the papers, or any
recognized Diploma in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or any qualified Dental technician
course, or certificate or Diploma from ITI in Electronics/Electrical Engineering.
2. Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 50% of the aggregate (45% for SC/ST) in the
qualifying examination.
3. Candidates should have passed the All India Online Aptitude Test (AIOAT) conducted by
Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
4. Candidates who are <24 years on the 1st July of the year of admission.
Mode of Selection
The marks obtained in the qualifying examination i.e., AIOAT conducted by Rehabilitation Council of
India for the current academic year will be considered for selection of candidates, as notified by RCI from
time to time. The candidates who have passed the AIOAT will be admitted at the institute through online
admission process. In addition, the candidate should submit the AIISH application form for DHA&ET
programme at the time of admission with prescribed fee along with relevant documents.
Stipend: Students admitted to the Diploma programme (DHA & ET) will be given a stipend of ₹250/-
per month for 10 months.

2. Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education (Hearing Impairment) (DECSE [HI])
(Recognized by RCI)
Duration of the Programme : One year
Total number of Seats : 28
This diploma programme helps in generating manpower that will cater to the needs of children with
hearing impairment below 3 years of age and their caregivers. Those trained would be able to help
children with hearing impairment to be equipped with pre-school and pre-academic skills. This would
enable these children to learn a school curriculum more easily.
Admission Eligibility
1. Admission to DECSE (HI) is open to candidates who have passed 12th standard / II PUC or
equivalent education from any recognized Board.
2. Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 50% of the aggregate (45% for SC/ST) in the
qualifying examination.
3. Candidates should have passed the All India Online Aptitude Test (AIOAT) conducted by
Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

3. Diploma in Hearing, Language and Speech (DHLS)
through Video-Conferencing mode (Recognized by RCI)
Duration of the Programme : One year
Total number of Seats : 28 (for AIISH and each study center)
This programme is designed to generate manpower that will cater to the needs of individuals with
communication disorders at the grass-root level. In this programme, the students are trained to
identify individuals with communication disorders and make appropriate referrals for further
diagnosis. The students are also trained to supervise the caregivers in following the guidelines given
by professionals for rehabilitation. Extensive practical training is given to supplement the theoretical
knowledge.
The programme is conducted at the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysuru along with
eight other study centres across the country. Theory classes will be conducted at AIISH which is
beamed in real time to the study centres through video-conferencing. Practical classes will be
conducted at each study centre which will be supervised by the staff of the centre.

passed 12th standard / II PUC with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematic/Computer
Science.
2. Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 50% of the aggregate (45% for SC/ST) in the
qualifying examination.
3. Candidates should have passed the All India Online Aptitude Test (AIOAT) conducted by
Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
4. Candidates should have working knowledge in English and proficiency in their regional
language.
While submitting online application for AIOAT 2020, the candidates should opt any of the above
mentioned DHLS study centre to take admission.
Mode of Selection
Selection is purely on the basis of “All India Online Aptitude Test (AIOAT)” conducted by the
Rehabilitation Council of India, New Delhi”. The marks obtained in the AIOAT will be considered
for selection of candidates for admission as per the RCI guidelines. In addition, the candidates
seeking admission under DHLS program should submit the AIISH application form to the respect
study centres of their choice with prescribed fee along with relevant documents.
Stipend: Students admitted to the DHLS Programme will be given a stipend of ₹250/- per month for
10 months.

II Bachelor Degree Programmes
1. Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (B.ASLP)
(Affiliated to University of Mysore & Recognized by RCI)
Duration of the Programme : Four years (6 semesters plus 1 year internship)
Total number of Seats : 68 at AIISH
The undergraduate students of B.ASLP learn about the normal aspects and disorders of speech,
language and hearing. The students are trained in evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and management of
communication disorders. The training includes theoretical and practical aspects, with focus on
clinical teaching-learning. The students get hands-on experience in dealing with clients under the
supervision of qualified staff.
Admission Eligibility
1. Admission to B.ASLP is open to candidates who have passed the 2-year Pre-University
examination conducted by the Pre-University Board of the State of Karnataka or any other
examination (10+2) considered as equivalent thereto by the University of Mysore.
2. Candidates who have obtained a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST) in the PCMB group or
combinations thereof, in their II PUC or qualifying examination are eligible for admission.
3. Only those candidates who have studied at least three subjects from among Physics,
Chemistry and Biology / Mathematics / Computer Science / Statistics / Electronics /
Psychology are eligible for admission.
Mode of Selection
An all India entrance examination will be conducted by the All India Institute of Speech & Hearing
for admission to the B.ASLP programme at various centres.
All students except those applying under the foreign quota, will have to write the entrance
examination in 3 of the 4 subjects, i.e., Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and either
Biology or Mathematics. The Entrance Examination is based on CBSE syllabus of 11th & 12
th
standards. Admission will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination and in
accordance with AIISH regulations governing the conduct of entrance examination. The Entrance
Examination will be of 150 marks (50 in each subject) to be answered in 150 mins. In the event of tie,
Candidates who appeared for Biology paper of the entrance examination will get preference. On
further tie, the relative position of the two candidates will be decided on the marks obtained in
Biology followed by Physics and Chemistry. In case of a tie even after the above conditions, the age
of the candidate shall decide the ranking. Students who are older will be placed higher.
For foreign candidates, the selection is made on the basis of marks in the science subjects in the
qualifying examination, subject to meeting eligibility requirements and equivalence criteria of
University of Mysore. Candidates who appeared for qualifying examination outside India will
be considered only under Foreign category and will not be entertained for Entrance
Examination mode

Candidates who undergo the Bachelor of Education - Special Education (Hearing Impairment) would
learn approaches and methods for educational management of children with hearing impairment. The
B.Ed. Spl. Ed. (HI) is a special programme which prepares special educators. With the perspective of
capacity building to meet the vision of India „Education for All‟, Faculty in the field of speech and
hearing as well as special education and other related disciplines conduct this programme.
Admission Eligibility
1) Admission to B.Ed. Spl. Ed. (HI) is open to candidates who have passed any degree
examination of the University of Mysore or any other examination recognized as equivalent
thereto by the University of Mysore.
2) Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 50% of the aggregate (45% for SC/ST) in the
qualifying examination.
3) Only those candidates who have not completed 30 years of age on the 1st of July of the
academic year in which admission is sought are eligible for admission. Relaxation of age (up
to 10 years) shall be considered for candidates on deputation/in-service.
Mode of Selection
Selection is purely on the basis of merit. The marks obtained in the qualifying examination will be
considered for selection of candidates.
Stipend: Students admitted to the Bachelor of Education - Special Education (Hearing Impairment)

The programme aims to provide academic and practical experience designed to prepare speech-
language pathologists and special educators to provide trans-disciplinary and field-based AAC
services for individuals with complex communication needs so that they can reach their full potential.
Admission Eligibility
1. Admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Augmentative and Alternative Communication is
open to the candidates who have passed in any of the below mentioned examinations of the
University of Mysore or any other recognized University or Institute with a minimum of 50%
in the qualifying examination.
a) B.Sc. (Speech & Hearing) / B.ASLP or equivalent from any other recognized University.
b) Bachelor in Special Education (in Hearing Impairment, Autism Spectrum Disorders,
Learning Disability, Mental Retardation, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple disabilities) or
equivalent from any other recognized University.
2. The proportion of candidates to be admitted with the qualifying examination of B.Sc. (Speech
& Hearing) / B.ASLP and B.S.Ed. streams will be decided by the institution where the
programme is initiated.
3. Those with the above qualification, who are sponsored / deputed from any recognized
institution, organization would be given an additional weightage of 2%.
4. No upper age limit is applicable.

a. The eligible applicants shall be short-listed in order of merit. For candidates with B.Sc.
(Speech & Hearing) / B.ASLP or equivalent, the average percentage marks obtained in the
qualifying examination will be considered; whereas, for candidates with Bachelor of Special
Education, average percentage marks of undergraduate programme (B.A. / B.Sc.) and the

2. P.G. Diploma in Clinical Linguistics for Speech-Language Pathology
(Affiliated to University of Mysore)

Clinical linguistics is a branch of linguistics that deals with the application of linguistic principles to
communication disabilities, especially in clinical settings. It involves inter-disciplinary study among
various fields such as speech and language pathology, linguistics, clinical psychology and education.
The programme aims at imparting knowledge regarding language development and its disorders.
Primarily, the program will prepare the candidates to undertake inter-disciplinary research in the areas
of speech, language and cognition. In addition, the programme will equip speech-language
pathologists to enhance their already acquired knowledge regarding assessment, diagnosis and
planning of intervention programs for children and adults with communication problems in the Indian
context.
Admission Eligibility
Candidates with a degree in B.Sc. (Speech & Hearing) / BASLP / B.ASLP from an institution
that is recognised by RCI and considered as equivalent thereto with an average of not less
than 50% of marks are eligible for admission.

3. P.G. Diploma in Forensic Speech Science and Technology (Affiliated to University of Mysore)

The identification of individuals through their speech characteristics is an area of speech science that
reliably arouses attention of forensic experts. There are very few forensic laboratories in India
undertaking forensic speaker identification. The P.G. Diploma in Forensic Speech Sciences and
Technology programme intends to train professionals in the area of forensic speaker identification
which would be applicable in forensic sciences.
Admission Eligibility
1. Candidates who have passed in any of the following examinations of any recognized
University/institute with a minimum of pass class in the qualifying examination are eligible to
apply.
a) B.Sc. with Physics/Mathematics/Electronics /Computer Science/Forensic Science/
Speech and Hearing as a major component at B.Sc. / B.ASLP level

4. P.G. Diploma in Neuro-Audiology (Subject to approval from competent authority)

Neuroaudiology is the specialized branch of Audiology that deals with the structure, function and
disorders of auditory neural pathway and the allied neural network. The scope of this specialty is
interdisciplinary. Knowledge in this area can be utilized to identify space occupying lesions as well as
diffused lesions of the auditory and associated neural pathways. It can be used to study processing of
auditory signal, in persons who hear normally as well as a wide range of clinical population. It is also
useful in evaluating plasticity in the auditory neural system. The focus of the programme is on
imparting research and clinical skills regarding the auditory and vestibular system. The programme
also imparts knowledge and skills necessary to carry out research pertaining to the area.

IV. Master Degree Programmes
1. M.Sc. (Speech-Language Pathology) (Affiliated to University of Mysore & Recognized by RCI)
Duration of the Programme : 4 Semesters (Two years)

The Postgraduate programme in Speech-Language Pathology is geared towards imparting advanced
knowledge and skills as applicable to the profession of Speech-Language Pathology. The programme
is designed to develop manpower to contribute to theoretical, clinical, research, field-based and
technology based knowledge to the discipline of Speech-Language Pathology. The programme
focuses on differential diagnosis and management of communication disorders and conduct research
to further the profession in the country.
Admission Eligibility
Candidates with a B.Sc. (Sp. & Hg.) / BASLP / B.ASLP degree of the University of Mysore or any
other University, considered as equivalent thereto from all recognized institute (except National
Institutes of Importance) with an average of not less than 50% of marks are eligible for admission.
[Note: „Average‟ refers to the average of the aggregate marks of all the years/semesters in UG. As
per the latest guidelines issued by the UOM, in case a candidate has taken more than the normal
duration prescribed to pass the degree examination, 3% of marks in the aggregate percentage is
deducted for each extra year that the candidates has taken to pass the degree examination.
Candidates, who have completed their qualifying examination in a foreign university, need to produce
equivalency certificate from UOM. At the time of admission, student should produce Degree
Certificate as per the University of Mysore guidelines.
Mode of Selection
An entrance examination based on the B.ASLP syllabus of RCI will be conducted at various centres
for the selection of candidates. Admission shall be made only on the basis of the marks obtained in
the entrance examination conducted by the institute for this purpose. The Entrance Examination will
be of 100 marks and the number of Questions to be answered shall be 100 in a duration of 100
minutes. There shall be negative marking for wrong answers calculated @ - 0.25 marks per wrong
answer.

The post-graduate programme in Audiology is geared for students who yearn for in-depth knowledge
and skills in the field. As it is difficult to specialize in all aspects of communication sciences while
carrying out a composite master‟s programme, AIISH is offering specialization at the master‟s level.
The post-graduate programme in Audiology focuses in providing detailed information about normal
aspects of the auditory system as well as on differential diagnosis and differential management of
auditory disorders. In addition, the students are also trained on relevant aspects pertaining to
disabilities and to identify research needs and plan research that would help in upgrading diagnostic
and rehabilitative services.
Admission Eligibility
Candidates with a B.Sc. (Sp. & Hg.) / BASLP / B.ASLP degree of the University of Mysore or any
other University, considered as equivalent thereto from all recognized institute (except National
Institutes of Importance) with an average of not less than 50% of marks are eligible for admission.
[Note: „Average‟ refers to the average of the aggregate marks of all the years/semesters in UG. As
per the latest guidelines issued by the UOM, in case a candidate has taken more than the normal
duration prescribed to pass the degree examination, 3% of marks in the aggregate percentage is
deducted for each extra year that the candidates has taken to pass the degree examination.
Candidates, who have completed their qualifying examination in a foreign university, need to produce
equivalency certificate from UOM. At the time of admission, student should produce Degree
Certificate as per the University of Mysore guidelines.
Mode of Selection
An entrance examination based on the B.ASLP syllabus of RCI will be conducted at various centres
for the selection of candidates. Admission shall be made only on the basis of the marks obtained in
the entrance examination conducted by the institute for this purpose. The Entrance Examination will
be of 100 marks and the number of Questions to be answered shall be 100 in a duration of 100
minutes. There shall be negative marking for wrong answers calculated @ - 0.25 marks per wrong
answer.

M.Ed.Spl.Ed. (HI) is offered to fulfil the needs of planning educational programmes, making policy
decisions and serving as master trainers in the area of special education.
Admission Eligibility@
1) Candidates with a B.S.Ed. (Hearing Impairment) / B.Ed. Spl. Ed. (HI) degree of the
University of Mysore or any B.Ed. (HI) recognized by RCI of any other University
considered as equivalent thereto with an average of not less than 50% (45% for SC/ST) of
marks in the qualifying examination are eligible. At the time of admission, student should
produce Degree Certificate as per the University of Mysore guidelines.
2) Only those candidates who have not completed 35 years of age as on 1st July of the
academic year in which admission is sought are eligible for admission. Age relaxation of up
to 5 years can be considered for candidates on deputation/in-service with the approval of the
University of Mysore.
Mode of Selection

General instructions for students with application fee details
1. Candidates are instructed to go through the Prospectus uploaded in the AIISH website and
understand and acquaint themselves :
Candidates should apply only „Online‟ for B.ASLP / M.Sc. (Aud) / M.Sc. (SLP) /
M.Ed. Spl. Ed. (HI) programmes.
For Non-entrance based programmes, the hardcopy the application duly filled
and signed, should be sent to the Director, AIISH, Manasagangothri,
Mysuru-570006.
Prospectus can be downloaded from the AIISH website www.aiishmysore.in.
Online submission of Application form may be made by accessing the website
www.aiishmysore.in and follow the instructions strictly.
Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified.
2. Candidate must retain the following document with them as reference for future
correspondence and should submit at the time of counselling in the event of their selection:
Print out of finally submitted online application form.
Candidate must preserve the admit card till the admission of the institute.
3. The information furnished in the online application form with regard to category remains the
same for the purpose of assignment of selection and no change will be entertained in future
for any reason. The student should produce the category certificate without fail during the
verification of original documents. All claims made in the application must be supported with
documentary proof.
4. Candidate must ensure that the mobile number, e-mail address, address entered in the online
application form are his / her own, as in case of urgency AIISH, Mysuru may send
information / communication by SMS or e-mail on a given mobile number and mailing ID
only.
5. For the latest updates, candidate must keep visiting the AIISH website www.aiishmysore.in
till the completion of final round of filling of seats.
6. The candidates / parents shall be solely held responsible for non-receipt of latest information
due to wrong mobile number / e-mail address filled in the online application form.
7. AIISH reserves the right to withdraw any such admission made at any point of time which is
fulfilling the eligibility criteria / regulation fixed by the competent authority from time to
time.
8. If any of the information furnished in the online application form is found to be false /
incorrect, the application is liable to be rejected and the seat allotted to the candidate, if any,
is also liable to be cancelled and the entire fee amount paid by such candidate shall be
forfeited.
9. If the information furnished by the candidates in the application form or any other document
/s submitted by the candidates / parents are found to be false / incorrect / tampered / forged,
such candidate‟s selection will be cancelled at any point of time during his / her course of
study and criminal proceedings as per rules will be initiated by the institute against the
candidate.
10. The candidates and their parents are strictly advised not to resort to any canvassing,
directly or indirectly, to support their applications. Canvassing in any form is strictly
prohibited and will be considered as a serious disqualification.

12. Candidates called for entrance examination/interview/counselling have to make their own
arrangements for their stay. No TA/DA is admissible for this purpose.
13. Seats reserved for in-service/deputation candidates for B.Ed. Spl.Ed. (HI) / M.Ed.Spl.Ed. (HI)
shall be filled-in to the employees of the State or Central Government or any Public
Undertaking. They should send their application through their employers. However, an
advance copy of the application (complete in all respects) can be sent. In case the application
is not received through the employer, a NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE should be
produced at the time of counselling failing which the candidate will not be considered for
admission under this category.
14. Candidates will be called in the order of their rank in the merit list for personal
interview/counselling. Students selected shall be admitted on the same day, on payment of
the prescribed admission fees in full, and submit original marks cards without which
admission will not be made. The candidates who have completed their qualifying
examination from outside Karnataka have to complete additional formalities at the
University of Mysore in connection with Eligibility Certificate / Equivalent Certificate by
paying the necessary fees at the University of Mysore on the same day.
If a candidate who is called for counselling does not appear by 10 a.m. on the day of
counselling or does not get admitted on the same day, if offered a seat, then the offer will
be cancelled and the immediate next candidate in the merit list will be offered the seat.
15. Verification of all the original documents will be made at the time of counselling. The
candidates should bring the below mentioned documents, as applicable, for counselling.
Candidates failing to produce any of the required documents will not be considered for
admission. One set of photocopies of the relevant documents should also be submitted.

applicants holding foreign passport.
16. All candidates who have sought admission will automatically be considered under the „Self
Finance Scheme‟ if they cannot be admitted under the general merit quota or any other
category. However, if a candidate has been admitted under the „Self Finance Scheme‟ and
later if a seat becomes vacant under the merit category, then he / she will be given admission
under merit category and the difference in the fees paid will be refunded.
17. Such candidates who withdraw from the programme, or cancel their admission for
whatsoever reason, and those who are removed from the programme for whatsoever
reason, shall forego all payments made by them to the institute and the University. Original
marks cards submitted to the institute at the time of admission will be returned only while
leaving or on completion of the programme or at the time of completion of the bond period.
Note: Once admission is completed and original marks cards have been deposited with the
institute, requests from students for the originals for a day or two to attend CET
counselling or any other admission counselling will not be entertained. Original marks
cards will be returned only if admission is cancelled for whatsoever reasons and in the
event of the withdrawal of the students from the academic programme.
18. Information regarding selected candidates and their dates of interview/ counselling will be
displayed in the Institute’s website/ Institute’s Notice Boards. The candidates are advised to
visit the website from time to time. Individual intimation will not be sent to both the selected
and non-selected candidates and no further correspondence on this will be entertained.
19. All students (including Post Doctoral Fellows) taking admission to various programmes and
receiving stipend/fellowship from the institute are required to submit an indemnity bond on a
non-judicial stamp paper of the value of Rs.200/- (For contents of the bond please refer
www.aiishmysore.in). The bond, duly completed in all respects shall be submitted at the time
of admission or within 7 days from the date of admission. However, the admission process
will be complete only after submission of the bond. Failure to submit the bond within the
stipulated time will result in cancellation of admission.

20. Signature of the candidate and the parent / guardian in the print out of the application
form as well as in the indemnity bond is compulsory, in the event of the selection of the
applicant to any of the academic programme in the institute.
21. All students who are admitted at AIISH and their parent/guardian have to sign the anti-
ragging forms, as recommended by the UGC.
22. Seats not filled in any of the categories except that of SC / ST / OBC will be transferred to
General Merit.
23. Students of B.ASLP shall bear all expenses relating to internship.
24. The rules and regulations in this prospectus are subject to change from time to time and the
students admitted shall be bound by them.
25. The decision of the Director of the institute shall be final in all matters related to selection
of candidates for admission to the various programmes and no appeal shall be entertained
on this subject.
26. All matters of dispute shall be limited to High Court of Karnataka.
27. The entrance examination will be in English. The entrance examination for the B.ASLP
programme M.Sc. (Audiology) / M.Sc. (Speech-Language Pathology) will be held at the
following cities:

Candidates applying for B.ASLP / M.Sc. (Audiology) / M.Sc. (Speech-Language
Pathology) programmes are required to indicate two examination centres of their choice
as FIRST AND SECOND choice. However, in most instances, candidates will be allotted
the centre of their first choice. The examination centre once allotted shall not be
changed under any circumstances.

Instructions for Entrance Examination
A. B.ASLP
1. Candidates should carry the examination centre with Admit card photograph affixed, Black ball
point pen of good quality and Aadhaar / driving license / any other document for proof of
Identity.
2. The syllabus for the entrance examination shall be CBSE (Class XI and XII)
3. The examination will be conducted in four subjects namely, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and
Mathematics. All the students except those applying under the foreign quota, will have to write
the entrance examination in 3 of the 4 subjects, i.e., Physics and Chemistry as compulsory
subjects and either Biology or Mathematics, which is based on the CBSE syllabus of 11th and
12th standards. In addition, the candidate who has studied Biology or Mathematics / Computer
Science/ Electronics/ Psychology would be eligible to apply for admissions to B.ASLP
programme. Therefore, a candidate will take entrance examination in PCM or PCB and not in
any other combinations.
Note: The three papers chosen by the candidate should be clearly indicated in the admission
ticket.
4. The examination is conducted in English.
5. The Entrance Examination will be of 150 marks (50 in each subject) to be answered in 150 mins,
an additional 10 minutes for reading instructions and filling up of personal details in teh answer
sheet. Answers are to be shaded using BLACK BALL POINT PEN only.
6. The candidate must retain a photocopy of his/her application form and UTR number of
payment for future correspondence and for availing duplicate hall ticket, if required.
7. Under no circumstances re-examination will be conducted for those who fail to appear for the
entrance examination on the scheduled date and time.
8. The candidates have to bring their admit card on the day of the entrance examination, without
which they will not be permitted to take up the entrance examination.
9. There is no negative marking for wrong answers for B.ASLP program.
10. If more than one answer is indicated against a question, no marks will be awarded for the same.
11. Any form of overwriting and erasing on the answer sheets will be processed by the computer as
an incorrect answer.
12. Based on the total marks obtained in the three subjects taken by the students, a merit list
generated.
13. In case two or more candidates obtain same percentile (tie) in the entrance exam, then inter-se
merit of such candidates shall be determined as follows:
(a) Candidates who appeared for Biology paper of the entrance examination will get
preference followed by Physics, Chemistry and the relative position of the two
candidates will be decided on the marks obtained in these subjects.
(b) In case of a tie even after the above conditions, the age of the candidate shall
decide the ranking. Students who are older will be placed higher.
14. There is no provision for revaluation of answer sheets.

15. Before announcement of All India rank list, answer key will be publishing in the website for
claiming any discrepancies in the answer key. A maximum of 48 hours time will be given for any
such claim. No further representations will be entertained in this regard. The All India Rank list
will be announced on 24th
May, 2020. The results will be put on our website: www.aiishmysore.in
along with the answer keys. Candidates selected as per the merit will be published in our website
www.aiishmysore.in. It may be noted that no individual communication would be sent in this
regard. List of candidates called for counselling or waitlisted will be notified on our website
only. Candidates and parents are advised to browse the website periodically for updated
information.
16. Candidates selected for B.ASLP have to be prepared to travel to Mysuru (for admission) at short
notice.
Note: Question papers of the Entrance Examination of the previous years (2018-19 and 2019-20)
are available on the link provided at the Institute website.
B. M.Sc. (Speech-Language Pathology), M.Sc. (Audiology)
1. Candidates should carry the examination centre with Admit card photograph affixed, Black ball
point pen of good quality and Aadhaar / driving license / any other document for proof of
Identity.
17. The Entrance Examination will be of 150 marks (50 in each subject) to be answered in 150 mins,
an additional 10 minutes for reading instructions and filling up of personal details in teh answer
sheet. Answers are to be shaded using BLACK BALL POINT PEN only.
2. Students have to answer 100 questions of multiple choice types, each carrying one mark on an
OMR sheet which will be scanned and processed on a computer.
3. The candidates have to bring their admit card on the day of the entrance examination, without
which they will not be permitted to take up the entrance examination.
4. Answers are to be shaded using BLACK BALL POINT PEN ONLY.
5. Any form of overwriting and erasing in the answer sheets will be processed as incorrect answers.
6. There is negative marking for wrong answers calculated @ -0.25 marks per wrong answer.
7. If more than one answer is indicated against a question it will be processed as incorrect and
negative marks will be awarded for the same.
8. The examination shall be conducted in Speech-Language Pathology for M.Sc. (Speech-Language
Pathology), Audiology for applicants to M.Sc. (Audiology) covering the B.Sc. (Sp. & Hg.) /
B.ASLP syllabus.
9. English is the medium of examination.
10. Under no circumstances will re-examination be conducted for those who fail to appear for the
entrance examination on the scheduled date and time.
11. There is no provision for revaluation of answer sheets.
12. In case two or more candidates obtain same percentile (tie) in the entrance examination then
inter-se merit of such candidates shall be determined as follows:
a) Aggregate of all the three years/6 semesters of the Bachelor‟s programme will be
considered.
b) If there is a tie even after this, then marks of the final year shall be considered.

c) In case of a tie even after the above conditions, the age of the candidate shall
decide the ranking. Students who are older will be placed higher.
13. Before announcement of All India rank list, answer key will be publishing in the website for

OMR sheet which will be scanned and processed on a computer.
4. The candidates have to bring their admit card on the day of the entrance examination, without
which they will not be permitted to take up the entrance examination.
