WHATEVER FAMILY FESTIVAL www.KennebecValleyChamber.com l 207-623-4559 FREE FAMILY FUN JUNE 13TH THROUGH JULY 4TH FAMILY FESTIVAL ’18 Over four decades ago, residents of the Kennebec Valley first came together to celebrate the river that unifies our region. What started with a carefree race down the mighty Kennebec River has transformed into the top-notch three-week family festival we celebrate today! This year the festivities run from June 13th through July 4th and are available throughout the Kennebec Valley. We are proud to present hundreds of activities for all to enjoy, from a bluegrass festival to craft fairs and waterfront concerts to theater shows and more. In past years, the Kennebec Valley Chamber has organized the Kid’s Day in Capitol Park, but, new last year, the Kid’s Day in Capitol Park was transformed to Kennebec River Day. The Kennebec River Day brings the tradition back to the Kennebec River as it is held at Mill Park. The Kennebec River Day is an event for all ages, with games and activities for children, craft vendors, food trucks, live music and entertainment. New this year, the Kennebec River Day will coincide with the Kennebec River Brewfest, a brewfest focusing on Maine breweries. The KV Chamber is excited to bring everyone together for a day in Augusta with activities for all. This community tradition in Central Maine would not be possible without the support and dedication of over 100 area businesses. Whatever you decide to do, you are sure to have fun during the Whatever Family Festival! 207-623-4559 l KennebecValleyChamber.com Maine Office of Tourism: www.VisitMaine.com Kennebec Valley Tourism Council: www.KennebecValley.org SATURDAY, JUNE 23 GREATER GARDINER RIVERFEST www.gardinermainstreet.org 7AM-11AM ICE CREAM BREAKFAST Boys & Girls Club of Kennebec Valley 8AM-10AM WOMEN OF CHRIST PANCAKE BREAKFAST + LAWN SALE ($$) Women of Christ Church, 1 Dresden Ave. 9AM-10AM YOGA ON THE BOARDWALK WITH KIM NIXON Waterfront Park 9AM-4PM LIBRARY BOOK SALE Gardiner Public Library, 582-3312 10AM-4PM 17th ANNUAL GARDINER ARTS + CRAFTS FESTIVAL Maine Artists & Artisans; Specialty Food Vendors; Local Restaurants; Water Street 10AM-4PM BLACKSMITH DEMO WITH ROBERT STEVENS & ZACH LEE Waterfront Park 10AM-4PM BUBBLE WAND & BUBBLE PAINTING Children’s Discovery Museum, Waterfront Park 10AM-4PM CHILDREN’S ACTIVITY TABLE Food for Thought Backpack Program Waterfront Park 10AM-4PM COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION SHOWCASE Waterfront Park 10AM-4PM DRUM CIRCLE Pump Deck 10AM-4PM FACE PAINTING, BALLOONS, POPCORN & KIDS ACTIVITIES Grace Community Chapel, Waterfront Park 10AM-4PM LIVE ENTERTAINMENT Johnson Hall Mini Park 10AM-4PM MAGIC WAND CRAFT & WISH BOARD Augusta Housing, Waterfront Park 10AM-4PM ROBOT DRIVING DEMOS The Gardiner Robotics Club, Waterfront Park 10AM-4PM STORY WALKS + NATURE HUNTS Literacy Volunteers of Greater Augusta, Waterfront Park 11AN-12PM JOSH LANDRY’S LIVE CHAINSAW SHOW Waterfront Park, 582-3100 11AM-12PM BALLOON ANIMALS Johnson Mini Park and Waterfront Park 11AM-4PM FREE BOAT RIDES Friends of the Cobbossee Watershed, Waterfront 3PM-4:30PM LIVE MUSIC Waterfront Stage 6:30PM- LIVE MUSIC 7:30PM Waterfront Park 7:45p-9p GARDINER TALENT SHOW BROUGHT TO YOU BY KENNEBEC SAVINGS BANK Waterfront Park, 582-7144 9PM GARDINER FCU FIREWORKS Waterfront Park ALSO ON JUNE 23 9AM PE’TANQUE TOURNAMENT Mill Park Pe’tanque 7:30 PM PRIDE@PREJUDICE OPENING NIGHT ($$) Theater at Monmouth TUESDAY, JUNE 26 THE GREAT RACE – GARDINER, MAINE STOP 2-9PM FOOD TRUCKS 3PM PARKING SHUTTLE BEGINS (WATER STREET CLOSED) 3PM CLASSIC CAR CRUISE-IN Waterfront Park 5-7PM GREAT RACE CARS ARRIVE Water Street 5:45-7PM Spare Parts 7:30 – 9PM The Scott Davis Quintet 9PM FIREWORKS Waterfront Park 10PM PARKING SHUTTLE ENDS WEDNESDAY, JUNE 27 6PM WATERFRONT WEDNESDAY Rob Burnell Band Waterfront Park, Downtown Augusta 6:30PM DIY FERMENTATION: SAUERKRAUT, KOMBUCHA, & VINEGAR Lithgow Library THURSDAY, JUNE 28 10AM MAD SCIENCE: SOUNDS LIKE SCIENCE Lithgow Library FRIDAY, JUNE 29 6p-7:30p BEL SOLE Johnson Hall Summer Waterfront Concert, Gardiner Waterfront Park SATURDAY, JUNE 30 KENNEBEC RIVER DAY IN MILL PARK (Rain Location – Augusta Civic Center) See other side for details ALSO ON JUNE 30 1PM THE TRUE STORY OF LITTLE RED, OPENING NIGHT ($$) Theater at Monmouth 7:30PM BLACK FLY FOLLIES ($$) Theater at Monmouth SUNDAY, JULY 1 6PM SNOW POND SYMPHONY ($$) The Bowl at Snow Pond 7:30PM NEMC FACULTY RECITALS Snow Pond TUESDAY, JULY 4 CAPITAL CITY RIVERFRONT FOURTH City of Augusta 10AM- THE 4TH AT THE FORT 7:30PM Old Time Independence Day Celebration 2:30PM LIVE MUSIC Market Square, Augusta 4PM 4TH OF JULY PARADE State Capitol to State Street to Water Street to Fort Western, City of Augusta 5:30PM HAYRIDES, VENDORS, BOUNCE HOUSES + FARMER’S MARKET Mill Park, Augusta Recreation 6PM LIVE MUSIC Mill Park, Augusta Recreation 9:15PM FIREWORKS Mill Park, City of Augusta ALSO ON JULY 4 8AM FRIENDS ON THE 4TH 5K – RUN, JOG OR WALK Friends of the Cobbossee Watershed, Norcross Point, Winthrop Dusk WINTHROP FIREWORKS Winthrop Area Chamber of Commerce, Norcross Point, Winthrop CALENDAR OF EVENTS WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13 6PM BLISTERED FINGERS FAMILY BLUEGRASS MUSIC FESTIVAL ($$) Litchfield Fairgrounds THURSDAY, JUNE 14 4PM BLISTERED FINGERS FAMILY BLUEGRASS MUSIC FESTIVAL ($$) Litchfield Fairgrounds FRIDAY, JUNE 15 10AM-10PM BLISTERED FINGERS FAMILY BLUEGRASS MUSIC FESTIVAL ($$) Litchfield Fairgrounds SATURDAY, JUNE 16 10AM-10PM BLISTERED FINGERS FAMILY BLUEGRASS MUSIC FESTIVAL ($$) Litchfield Fairgrounds 8AM-6PM BOND BROOK TREDfest Bond Brook Trails, Augusta SUNDAY, JUNE 17 9AM BLISTERED FINGERS FAMILY BLUEGRASS MUSIC FESTIVAL ($$) Litchfield Fairgrounds MONDAY, JUNE 18 6:30PM GET OUTSIDE: EXPLORE THE AUGUSTA TRAILS Lithgow Library WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20 6PM WATERFRONT WEDNESDAY Sharon Hood & Dixon Rd. Kennebec River Day brings the tradition back to the Kennebec River as it is held at Mill Park. The Kennebec River Day is an

event for all ages, with games and activities for children, craft vendors, food trucks, live music and entertainment. New this year, the Kennebec River Day will coincide with
