Schoen, who works with the nonprofit organization Strings for Kids, presents his handmade string music instruments. July 1– August 17 Saul Alexander Gallery Exhibit: Interspatial: Astronomical Artwork by Alizey Khan Main Library Alizey Khan’s exhibit features paintings and prints that depict astro-nomical phenomena and explore the properties of light and spatial depth in an incomprehensibly vast space. Khan strives to illustrate natural processes beyond ordinary human experience and to instill in the viewer “a sense of curiosity and wonder regarding the universe that lies beyond our little bubble of humanity.”

Tuesday, July 30 Author Talk and Signing - Jennifer Vido (adults) John’s Island Regional Library at 6 p.m. Jennifer Vido is known for her nationally syndicated Jen’s Jewels column that features interviews with different authors. A savvy blogger for the web site MomTrends.com, Vido talks about her journey to getting published and answers questions on the latest trends in book publishing. A national spokesperson for the Arthritis Foundation, she has been featured by The New York Times, The Baltimore Sun and Arthritis Today. Her first novel, Par for the Course, was published in 2010. Friends of the Library Summer Book Sale The Charleston Friends of the Library are proud to present That Summer Book Sale at the John's Island Regional Library of the Charleston County Public Library.
