change the world. - Nelson Mandela Our world faces a true planetary
emergency. - Al Gore
Slide 4
What is CAIL? The Collegiate Alliance for International
Learning is an alliance between RPI, Harvard, and University of
Hong Kong. CAIL offers an online course called Common Global
Environmental Health Challenges. CAIL aims to modernize the way
environmental science departments teach, centralize research being
done on environmental problems, and expand to make an even bigger
impact on education, environmental issues, and global
connections.
Slide 5
Why Do We Need CAIL? Current environmental educational system
is flawed Students working on the same thing dont work together No
data access Shared and varied perspectives

AIMS
Slide 9
First Aim We hope to modify the system of teaching at
environmental science departments at universities by using the
internet to connect students all around the world and to centralize
all the research that is being done on environmental problems.
Slide 10
Second Aim CAIL hopes to educate the students who will work to
fix global environmental issues such as air pollution, sicknesses,
and climate change. We will do this by uniting students from
different parts of the world, and by emphasizing collaboration of
research, we hope to affect change in the governments policies and
the publics mindsets.
Slide 11
Third Aim CAIL aims to expand to many different courses and
other member schools and become a household name in colleges and
universities throughout the world. If CAIL expands to include other
schools in the alliance, more research could be generated that
could result in better solutions or a larger impact on policy
making.
Slide 12
RATIONALE
Slide 13
Topical Importance CAIL will benefit, teach, and unite the
global student population. Climate Change is one of the foremost
issues today, and it is a necessity for todays students to develop
effective solutions.

being worked on by students
Slide 26
CLOSING
Slide 27
Closing Climate change is happening, and we need to take action
Students across the world have the ambition Connecting these
students will only result in positive results We can create a
