NewCAFOProgramActivitiesTheagricultural communitycontinues toembraceand incorporatenewtechnology into theiroperations.Technologies that impact nutrient management, include, but are not limited to, low-pressure manureapplication systems, manure digesters with off-farm feed stocks, and robotic milking equipment.Whenthesetechnologiesareincorporated, itrequirestheCAFOpermitregistrant’sAWMPtoberevisedtoreflectthese changes and additions. Staff must review these AWMP updates to ensure that the technology isaccuratelyrepresentedandintegratedintowastesystemcalculations. SubstantialchangestoAWMPs,asdefinedinthepermitshavepublicnoticeandparticipationrequirements.
