Materials:
I/5.50 mm hook
Worsted yarn- about 400 yds to get 10
wide by 38 longsample shown uses
two skeins Red Heart SS.
To make this wider, add stitches to the
ribbed edges, or add more sc stitches
between the small cables and the larger
cabled section.
Special Stitches:
blo- work stitch into the back loop only
FPdc- front post double crochet: Yarn
over, insert hook from front to back
around the post of indicated st, yarn
over, pull loop through, yarn over, pull
through two loops, yarn over, pull
through last two loops.
FPtr- front post treble crochet: Yarn ov
twice, insert hook from front to back
around the post of indicated st, yarn
over, pull loop through, (yarn over, pull
through two loops) three times.
FPdtr-front post double treble crochet:
Yarn over three times, insert hook from
front to back around the post of
indicated st, yarn over, pull loop
through, (yarn over, pull through two
loops) four times.
Notes:
When working behind the post stitches
it may help to pull the stitches you are
working behind towards you and down
little. You will be working in front of the
sc, so theres only a little pocket space
to work in. Its a bit tricky the first few
times, but, as with anything, it comes
with practice.

used a button for closure--it slides easily between the small cable post stitches. But you could use so
many other things: a velvet ribbon, hook-and-eye closures, just let it lie how it may, etc.
