COLLEGE ON A PEDESTALCollege of Science and Engineering which was presented by Professor Marcus Lane
• The College of Science and Engineering is the newest college, the outcome of the merger of middle of 2016 by College of Science, Technology and Engineering and the College of Marine and Environmental Science.
• 6 intellectually diverse academic groups from Anthropology to Zoology
• Employed 130 Academics and in total 350 staff. Operated a very significant PHD student body of 400 PHD students.
• Two programs in Singapore and two staff members from the JCUS campus who were affiliated with the College.
• Important issues facing CSE:
• One of the Primary tasks of the College would be to build student load. New Courses IOT, Bachelor of Advanced Science and Bachelor of Environmental Practice.
• Move from single offer focus to a portfolio model which included face to face mode at Australian tropical campuses; online programs and an expanded suite of experiences in Singapore
• High level of coordination required to find a seamless way to work with other areas of the University

ACADEMIC TEACHING PREPARATION PROGRAMS: OPTIONS PAPER
• Academic professional development needed consideration at management and governance level in the context of these professional development activities rather than in the isolation of this one program.
• An evaluation of academic Professional development will be one of the priority areas of the academic Board in 2017.
