CAASPP Coordinator Main Responsibilities
• Establish testing schedules
• Work with Technology Coordinator to prepare testing devices• Earbuds• Keyboards (for iPads only)
• Train test examiners and proctors• Create TOMS accounts• Familiarize everyone with the CAASPP website • Verify TOMS access for examiners• Make sure everyone knows where Student State IDs can be found• Encourage the use desktops for test sessions
• Ensure accuracy of student data• Work with school Administrator (supervising testing) and Student Testing

All students take the Smarter Balanced assessments, with the following exceptions:
Students with disabilities who take the alternate assessments (ELA and mathematics)
English learners who have been enrolled in a school in the United States less than 12 months (ELA only)

There are two options to set designated supports and accommodations in TOMS:
1. One-by-one manual configuration in the user interface
2. File upload

− Use the CAASPP ISAAP Tool to create an upload file

TOMS If students have been enrolled for some time and do
not show in TOMS – check the following: Enrollment in MiSiS Grade level in MiSiS

Interim Comprehensive Assessments (ICAs) mirror the summative assessment: Use the same blueprints as the summative.
Assess the same range of standards.
Have the same item types and formats.
Include performance tasks.
Require the same amount of administration time.
Provide information regarding student readiness for the end-of-year summative assessment

Interim Assessment Blocks
Interim Assessment Blocks (IABs) assess fewer sets of skills and:
Use the same targets, by grade level, as the summative blueprints.
Consist of short, focused sets of items.
Provide information about a student’s strengths and needs in relation to the standards.
Offer varied blocks by grade level and subject area.
Anticipated release of January 27th.

Test Security Guidelines
Actively monitor students during testing. Seat students so that they cannot easily
view each other's work. Students not testing may not be in the
room. Report irregularities and improprieties.
