LOST TRACKING FOR SOME JOBS IN JES3
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
ESP may lose track of some jobs, if multiple jobs with the
same name are submitted at the same time and the tracking
data comes in unexpected order.
This fix corrects the processing of tracking
data. This problem affects only jobs run under JES3.
SYMPTOMS:
There are multiple jobs with the same name
submitted at the same time on a JES3 system.
Some of these jobs will stay in SUBMITTED status
even though they have completed in JES3.
IMPACT:
ESP may lose track of some jobs.
CIRCUMVENTION:
None.

WORKSTATION SERVER ABEND878
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A memory leak in the CA11 interface can lead
to an S878 abend of the Workstation Server.
A similar memory leak exists in the TSO ESP
interface.
A memory leak in the processing of the RUN
RUN statement during simulation can also
lead to an S878 abend of the Workstation
Server.
SYMPTOMS:
Workstation Server abends with a S878.
IMPACT:
ESP Workstation users have to re-logon.

PERFORMANCE PROBLEM WITH SLOT FILE CACHING
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
In the situation where there are ESP applications containing a large
number of jobs and the APPLFILE initialization parameter has CACHE
specified, ESP will have high CPU consumption processing the
cache. This can be observed using performance analysis tools.
The symptom is that CYBXI007 and CYBXI003 have high CPU usage.
SYMPTOMS:
ESP runs slowly, with high CPU consumption.
IMPACT:
ESP continues to function.

APPLICATION SCOREBOARD KEEPS UNUSABLE ENTRIES
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A completed application can be accessed only if a record of it remains in
the job index file, which usually keeps 20 most recent generations of an
application. Application scoreboard entries are not deleted automatically
when the index record is discarded. A frequently run application can fill
the application monitor display with a large number of unneeded entries
and use a significant amount of memory in the ESP started task.
SYMPTOMS:
Hundreds of completed generations of an application appear in application
monitor display. Memory shortage (abend S878) in ESP started task if
PURGAPPL command is not used to clear the application scoreboard.
IMPACT:
Scoreboard is cluttered with unusable entries.
ESP abend after a long time without PURGAPPL.

LOADAGDF SUBCOMMAND CONTINUATION ERROR NOT DETECTED
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
If a statement such as the following is specified in an AGENTDEF data set,
without a plus or minus continuation character in the first line -
AGENT WINAGENT HOST(135.54.72.1) PORT(1440) KEYNAME(WINAES)
TYPE('Window Agent')
then the second line is treated as a separate statement.
The error is not properly relayed to the LOADAGDF command processing the
AGENTDEF data set, so the agent is defined without the above TYPE tag.
This fix ensures that the error will be detected and the LOADAGDF command
will fail.
SYMPTOMS:
A multi-line AGENT statement with a missing continuation character in an
AGENTDEF data set may be processed with missing attributes by a LOADAGDF
command, instead of being flagged as an error.
IMPACT:
See SYMPTOMS section.
CIRCUMVENTION:
Add the missing continutation character to the AGENT statement in the
AGENTDEF data set and re-issue the LOADAGDF command.

ABENDS322 OF UTILITY CYBESUT1
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A batch job running utility CYBESUT1 may abend with S322.
If parameter TIME=1440 is used in the JCL of the job, it may
also abend with S878 if a limited region is in effect.
These abends occur if the JOBINDEX data set contains a
very high number of application generation entries for
the completed applications. In the reported issues this
number reached several millions.
When CYBESUT1 is run without the SUBSYSTEM parameter to generate a
report but not update the data sets, and subsystems using the same
data sets are active, the SYSPRINT report may be inaccurate and false
error messages may be generated, as the data sets are not being
serialized by CYBESUT1. When this occurs, CYBESUT1 will print the
following warning in the SYSPRINT report -
*** WARNING ***
* If ESP subsystems using the above JOBINDEX and APPLFILE data sets are
* active, then the following report may be inaccurate, and may include
* false error messages, as the data sets are not properly serialized.
* If so, rerun this job specifying the SUBSYSTEM(<ssid>) parameter,
* where <ssid> specifies the name of an ESP subsystem running on the
* same system as this job.
SYMPTOMS:
ABENDS322, ABENDS878.
In a big enough region with TIME=1440, the job may run for
several hours.
IMPACT:
Inability to use utility CYBESUT1.
CIRCUMVENTION:
Run utility CYBESUT7 to clean up old application generation entries.

WEB SERVICE UTILITY DEFAULT FOR SESSIONLIMIT CHANGED TO 1
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

number of times that the utility repeats sending a web service request
to Workstation Server.
SYMPTOMS:

IMPACT:

is acceptable, which is usually true.

host command environment in REXX. It is intended for use in REXX programs
under CA OPS/MVS. The module name representing the command environment is
CYBJS052. When configured, the command processor can be invoked in REXX
using the ADDRESS instruction:
ADDRESS ESP "<initparms>; <cmd1>; <cmd2>; ..."
<initparms> string specifies the target subsystem id and, optionally, other
parameters acceptable in the PARM field of an ESP batch job.
<cmd1>, <cmd2>, ... are commands to be executed.
The response messages will be placed on the REXX data stack.
This example displays information about the checkpoint and the track file:
ADDRESS ESP "SUBSYS(ESPP) MASTER; LISTCKPT; LISTTRAK"
SAY "ESP RC =" RC
DO QUEUED()
PULL LINE
SAY LINE
END
The MASTER keyword in the initparms string requests routing of commands to
the master, so the master's checkpoint will be shown even if the specified
subsystem id belongs to a proxy. The MASTER keyword works only if XCF
command routing is enabled (requires the High Availability or the Service
Governor option).

MANAGER IP ADDRESS IS NOT UPDATED AFTER FAILOVER
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The IP address obtained by ESP for the MANAGER initialization parameter in
the Agent Definition Table is not updated after the Master subsystem fails
over the Shadow.
This happens if the LOADAGDF command is not used, and the agent definition
structures are loaded from the COMMQ file.
This fix addresses the case when the TCPIP parameter is omitted in the
MANAGER initialization parameter.
SYMPTOMS:
A response from the MGRADDR command issued after the failover will show an
IP address of the system, where the Master has run before the failover.
The WOBs submitted before the failover will stop receiving AFMs from the
agents, resulting in the loss of tracking.
IMPACT:
Disruption of the workload flow.
CIRCUMVENTION:
If possible, manually execute the LOADAGDF command referring to the correct
Agent Definition Table.

ENABLE BROWSING OF INSERTED JOB DEFINITIONS
Enable browsing of inserted job definitions
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Jobs inserted into an active application via IW or APPLINS command are
defined using ESP procedure language. The text of the definitions is stored
in the application record but the BP command in CSF does not show it. This
enhancement enables display of inserted text by BP (Browse Procedure)
command.
