Desktop Display Decoder

The C25 II Desktop Display Decoder connects to your

receiver’s unfiltered discriminator.

The C25 will decode the

P25 data and present the

Unit ID on the large easy

to read display.

Page 4

The display can also be programmed to show the ID in Hex,

Decimal or Optionally, with an Alias

Hex Decimal Alias

Like the C25 II, the C25 III decodes P25 data to extract the

Unit and Emergency ID’s

Having two lines of display,

the C25 III gives you more

display features and

options !

The C25 III can be programmed to show : Source (SRC) Destination (DEST) Talk Group (TGID) Mfgr ID (MFID) Low speed data (LSD) Network Access Code (NAC) Data (DATA) Trunking Sig Block (TSBK)

As well as Date & Time

If your console currently reads RS-232 data in the following formats, it can now ALSO decode P25 Unit and Emergency ID’s !

BED-31/1207 Extended BED-31/1207 MODAT CML Cimarron Standard Cimarron Translated Cimarron MultiChannel Cimarron Standard Classic

So, no need to change your entire console in order to read and record Unit ID’s !

Having a RS-232 serial data output also allows for a larger wall-mounted display.

Maybe, your console DIRECTLYdecodes MDC-1200 FSK Data.

Adding P25 channels? No problem!

Adding the Translate Option to your C25 I is the answer !

MDC-1200 FSK

The C25 I takes discriminator audio input, Translates the P25

data. Outputs equivalent MDC-1200 FSK data to your

console input.

Remote acquisition of P25 dataDo not have receiver discriminator locally?

No problem.

The P25 data is then converted to Cimarron RS-232 data to be sent to your local C25 II or III to be displayed locally on your console or desktop.

Our C25 I can be setup at the remote receiver site. It will take in the discriminator remotely.

When a New P25 capable Service Monitoris not in the budget…

Page 23

If you have had the opportunity to repair any of the new P25

transceivers, you might find that most repairs still involve the

same types of issues found on your familiar analog

transceivers:

• Blown RF amp

• Blown AF amp

• Blown speaker

• Broken Ceramic filter

• Broken antenna connector

• Fried DC input (reversed)

• Corrupted CPU data

• Bad Crystal

Page 24

You’ll notice, none of these pertain specifically to P25. Repairing a P25 portable or mobile is normally exactly the same as repairing an analog radio.

After the radio is repaired, a verification of the transmitted data is part of the final check.

For shop repair (support of P25 customers) a benchtop decoder can show your transmitted data in an easier to see display. If a ~$30,000 to $40,000 service monitor is not in your budget, the C25 II or III can fill a large part of that need.

If you have any of these trusted service monitors, you can

check your P25 radio before it leaves your shop.
