Course Overview Lesson StructureThe course is designed to prepare students for the International Certificate (PTE General Test) on C1-C2 level. It includes 20 lessons focused on developing language skills, practising grammar and vocabulary and improving test-taking strategies.
The course is based on PTE General Skills Booster, which is included in the course fee. Beside of general English lessons, the students work on Practice Tests. After completing the course, the participants can take an official test, both Spoken and Written and get a certificate which is accepted around the world by universities, ministries of education and employers as proof of English language proficiency.
*Taking the test is optional.

Quick Facts
Vocabulary and Grammar
Vocabulary and Grammar lessons focus on the language linked to the themes of the tests. These are important parts of the participants’ ability to communicate in English. The lessons include both presentation and practice stages.
Language Skills
Language Skills lessons focus on practising each of the four skills in the tests – listening, speaking, reading and writing. The objectives of receptive skill lessons are to understand the main ideas and specific information from short and longer texts, while the writing sections focus on writing a short letter and a text from own experience, knowledge or imagination. As for the speaking sections, they include tasks, such as monologue, discussion, picture description and role plays.
Practice Tests
Lessons focusing on practice tests give the participants opportunity to improve test-taking strategies. Model tests include tasks from both written and spoken tests. The lessons also include tips giving advice on how to work on each section.

What is the International Certificate (PTE General)?The International Certificate (PTE General) is designed to reward positive achievement in English language learning. The test is an assessment solution as it’s intended for learners of English who are speakers of other languages (ESOL).
The International Certificate integrates all four skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing) and focuses on assessing the ability of communicating in English, rather than test-taking skills.
It is accepted around the world by universities, ministries of education and employers as proof of English language proficiency.
Test Levels
All six levels of proficiency (A1, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) are designed to assess and accredit general English language ability. The levels are linked to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and accredited by Ofqual in the UK.
Test Components
The test consists of two parts: a written paper and a spoken test, and assesses four skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing.
The written paper tests listening, reading comprehension and writing skills and is marked by external examiners in the UK.
The spoken test assesses speaking skills and is also marked by external examiners in the UK.
About TextbookPTE General Skills Booster has been specially written to help students become familiar with the format and content of the International Certificate (PTE General) Test. It contains five fill practice tests plus language and skills development sections in each unit to help you improve general level of English as well as improving your score in the test.
Vocabulary and Grammar practice sections which focus on the language linked to the themes of the tests;
Five Practice Tests for both Written and Spoken Tests with Tips giving advice on how to approach each section and deal with particular problems that might occur;
Skills development sections to practice each of the four skills in the tests – listening, speaking, reading and writing;
A writing guide which concentrates on the writing tasks you will meet in the tests, giving example answers, writing tips and practice questions.

This course will be conducted by Nata Gugushvili, an experienced EFL teacher and trainer. Nata is an English Language teacher and ELT trainer with more than 20 years of experience. She worked at International House Tbilisi as a teacher and delivered professional development seminars as well. She also conducted exam-oriented courses at British Council in 2011-2014.
Nata started working for English Book Education in 2015 as an English language teacher for Ilia State University project. The project included preparing students for PTE exam.
Nowadays, she works for British Teaching University in Georgia and cooperates with English Book Education in terms of delivering various training sessions.
