Dear Resident CITYLINK TULLA WIDENING: WEBB DOCK ACCESS WORKS ON THE WEST GATE FREEWAY, SUNDAY 26 JUNE UNTIL FRIDAY 1 JULY 2016. We are writing to inform you about works that will take place on the West Gate Freeway from Sunday 26 June to Friday 1 July 2016. These works are a part of Webb Dock Access improvements that are underway along the West Gate Freeway and in the Cook Street, Port Melbourne area. The Webb Dock access improvements are the first works to commence on the Western Distributor project and will support the Port of Melbourne’s Port Capacity Project. The CityLink Tulla Widening is delivering major works, known as Webb Dock Access east works, on behalf of Western Distributor project partners, Transurban and the Victorian Government. These works include building an upgraded, signalised intersection at Cook Street/Salmon Street and building new separated lanes on the West Gate Freeway for eastbound traffic heading towards a newly upgraded and safer Bolte Bridge entry ramp. Transurban’s CityLink Tulla Widening construction contractor, CPB Contractors, will deliver these works. VicRoads is delivering complementary works which include widening Cook Street and adding a lane in each direction between Todd Road and the West Gate Freeway. These works are known as Webb Dock access west works. Setting up traffic management and extending concrete barriers eastbound (inbound) on the West Gate Freeway to the Bolte Bridge Demolishing existing concrete barriers to build new upgraded concrete barriers

Bored piling to build foundations for new overhead signage structures (gantries), as shown in blue on the map below.

Where we will beAlong the West Gate Freeway inbound between Salmon Street and the Bolte Bridge, Port Melbourne, as indicated in red on the map below.

When works will occur Sunday 26 June, 8pm to 5pm: Installing temporary barriers on the West Gate Freeway Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 June, 7am to 6pm: Demolishing existing concrete barriers

on the West Gate Freeway Tuesday 28 June and Friday 1 July 2016, 8pm to 5am: Bored piling works on the West

Gate Freeway.What to expectWhile these works will not impact your property, you may experience:

Traffic management including signage and personnel to temporarily close lanes on the West Gate Freeway

Increase in traffic on the West Gate Freeway. We encourage you to plan your journey in advance and allow extra time for travel

Noise from heavy equipment including excavators, trucks and other site vehicles A small team of construction personnel at work.

We are committed to keeping residents and businesses informed and minimising the inconvenience during construction, while keeping the community and our workers safe at all times. Managing and protecting the environment is also important to us and we are working with local and state government adhering to environmental laws to ensure any impact to the natural ecosystem is minimised.

This work may be rescheduled in the event of unsuitable weather or other unavoidable circumstances.
