What our clients have to say…..
“counselling has made a great impact on me. I am a lot happier than I have been for a while. My friendships are great and I now have motivation to get on with life again! I’m doing much better at schooland it has given me the motivation topursue counselling as a career; seeing what impact it had on me when I thought I was a lost cause/hope of a human – waste of space/oxygen – and would like to do for others what has been done for me”

Young Persons Counselling your questions answered…How can Relate help?
If you are aged between 11-18 you can come and talk with a counsellor about what’s bothering you. We can support you emotionally and try to help resolve any problems. Whatever you talk to us about is confidential, unless your counsellor is worried about your safety.
How much will it cost?
Relate Young person’s counselling is a fully funded service and therefore won’t cost you anything if you live within the Bradford district.
There are lots of reasons why young people come and see us for support. Some of these are due to problems and worries to do with home, school, friendships or your own relationship. You might want some help with learning how to manage your emotions or to understand your feelings. Maybe you just need to talk something through.
“You can talk about personal stuff without parents knowing.”
“It helped with problems I had and stopped me doing bad things.”
What will happen?
You can contact us directly or ask someone you trust to. This could be a parent, your GP, a school/ college nurse or learning mentor. We’ll invite you into our centre to have a chat with a counsellor. This is to find out if we’re the right service to help you. This can be done for you individually or a parent (or any relative) can come with you, if you prefer.
What we expect from you?
Once counselling begins we ask that you keep your appointments. If you do have to cancel, we ask you give us as much notice as possible, so we can offer the appointment to someone else.
If you have a question that we have not answered here, then please contact us and we will be pleased to help. Our contact details are overleaf.
