Valuable advantages>> competitiveness: the “smart solution” combines economical advantages with the usual

technical performances of pre-insulated aluminium ducts;

>> fast to assemble: pre-cut panels are supplied inside a box, few easy and fast moves are

enough to complete the whole operation;

>> technical quality: the product fully complies with the requirements of low pressure systems.

The specific panel with a 12 mm thickness grants a thermal insulation comparable to a 20

mm thick rubber mattress;

>> off-cuts reduction: the pre-cut solution optimizes the use of the material itself by reducing

the off-cuts.

The new smart8 solution also reconfirms and guarantees all the technical characteristics

which, for nearly 20 years, have been appreciated in all the rectangular versions (indoor and

outdoor) of P3ductal system, such as:

>> total safety in case of fire: Class B-s2,d0 according to the European UNI EN 13501-1 2005;

>> highest security in case of earthquake: due to the high rigidity and lightness of materials;

>> very high hygiene and quality of the air: thanks to the use of aluminium for the internal

surface of ducts

>> complete respect of the environment: our smart8 panels are made using the exclusive

“Hydrotec” technology, which utilizes only water for the expansion of the polyurethane insulation.

This solution avoids the use of the undesired greenhouse effect gases (CFC, HCFC, HFC, HC).

>> very good thermal insulation: λi=0,022 W/(m °C) at 10 °C

>> very low friction losses: thanks to the fact that the internal surfaces of duct have reduced

roughness.

>> extraordinary air seal: our special “labyrinth” bayonet, thanks to its particular shape, cre-

ates a true labyrinth which drastically reduces the air leaks. Thanks to the bayonet and the

available frames a very good air seal is guaranteed.

Where to use P3ductal smart8

The new smart8 solution for octagonal ducts is efficient, economical and ideal for those

visible systems which require both high insulation and aesthetic properties.

• pressures up to 300 Pa

• available sizes are from 150 to 400 mm (with a 50 mm interval)

From box to duct

1

The real secret of the smart8 solution is it’s fast and easy assembly.

The philosophy is simple: starting from a straight duct, which can quickly

be assembled thanks to the special kit, you can obtain all fittings (bends,

reductions, off-sets, etc.) necessary to construct a complete duct system

for any requirement.

The steps to follow are few and fast:

1. using the pre-cut panels, 12 mm thick, you assemble the straight ducts,

folding them over and closing with the “labyrinth” bayonet (panels and

bayonets are provided together in a box kit form);

2. with a specific straight frame it is possible to unite the single pieces of

duct, in order to obtain any length of straight duct.

3. in order to make the fittings you start from the straight duct and with a

series of transversal cuts you obtain the single components that, once

twisted and re-united, generate the fittings.

4. the various fitting’s components are united using angled frames.

the special “labyrinth” bayonetcreates a real labyrinth which drastically reduces the air leaks

Construction simplicity: the winning formula

> Applying the frame[1-2] Insert the frame by applying a normal pressure [3] Spread a layer of glue on the inside of the frame in order to prepare the

joining of the next section of duct.

> Joining the straight ducts and applying the clips[1] Block into the frame the end of the next section of duct. [2] Apply the clips, [3] on more than one side if needed, in order to

guarantee the air seal of the join even during the drying period of the glue.

> Duct closing with the labyrinth bayonet[1] Fold the panel in correspondence to the pre-made cuts, in order to obtain an octagonal duct. [2] In order to easily maintain

the shape, fix one end of the duct with a frame. [3] Turn the duct around and [4] insert the special bayonet in the joining slot,

present on the panel, [5] and help yourself if necessary with a rubber hammer.
