1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: 2 To show forth thy loving-kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, 3 Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound. 4 For thou, Lord, has made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. 5 O Lord, how great are thy works! And thy thoughts are very deep.” (Psalm 92:1-5). It has been 15 years, today, since the World Trade Center was destroyed in New York, and one thing is clear: we must keep dreaming the dream. We can’t afford to stop growing, or to stop pressing toward the mark. In just a couple of weeks, our church will celebrate its 35th anniversary. I don’t take this freedom of worship for granted. We have an open door to serve the Lord with gladness. In America, we have liberty. In Jesus, we have liberty that will set us free by the power of the Holy Ghost. He whom the son sets free is free indeed. Our world may be troubled and uncertain, but we can be established in Jesus Christ who is the same yesterday, today and forever. My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand, so the song goes. If we keep praying, keep believing that the Lord will deliver us and that he is a present help in the time of trouble, then we reap the victories. “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9). I am blessed to be a part of The Pentecostals of Greenville. My thoughts tonight are tumbling through my mind and can’t be contained. I feel like we’ve been called to prayer as a nation, and we are united together with a common bond: reaching out to the lost. I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise shall continually be in my mouth. I can have peace even when the world in which I live is in chaos. My hope is in Jesus and the things of the world are only temporal. God, on the other hand, is eternal and he loves me with an everlasting and unconditional love. God bless America. -gm Under the Shadow of the Almighty CHURCH SCHEDULE: Sunday School 10:00 AM Evening Worship 7:00 PM Bible Study Wednesday 7:00 P.M.
