March 2018 C-K RIDER CHAUTAUQUA-KINZUA HARLEY OWNERS GROUP CHAPTER #3261 Chapter Director Thoughts Meeting Minutes 2/17/2018 Four months ago we polished our bikes, treated the gasoline and parked them where we thought to be the safest place. The fall ride to Letchworth State Park is now just a memory. Winter is on its way and thoughts of spring already fill our minds. The will come soon that we pull our bikes back out and start another beautiful riding season all over again. The months pass slowly ,and November runs through to Thanksgiving. I am so thankful for my fellow club members and my friends behind bars. For most of us we made it through another riding season safe and in harmed. For two of our friends I thank the good Lord that he kept them alive to ride an- other day. God bless you both. Winter on the other hand poses more problems, road conditions can be treacherous. We rush from store to store including HDJ trying to find the right gifts for our loved ones. While the days leading up to our Lord's birthday seem to take forever and the nights are lasting even longer. We work hard day and night preparing for Christmas day and it goes so quickly. The New Year comes and 2018 takes over . Spring is now even closer and soon I am off to Las Vegas for almost a month. I miss my home, my Roseann and my family and friends. I have a long drive ahead, in weather that is sometimes good and some that is icy and snow covered. Warmer weather in the southwest brings out motorcycles and I long to be on mine. Starting it up and hearing that iconic sound that is Harley Davidson. Shifting my horse and heading down the road in sunrise or sunset. I'm jealous as some don't need to worry about ice and snow or salt and grit from the roads. They are lucky to be able to ride year round, then I think how lucky I am to have such a beautiful part of this country to ride in. February rolls in and I come home ,spring now even closer. I have missed a few things Groundhogs day, the Superbowl with family and worst of all my Rosie's birthday. This is the first time and I hope the last. I'm sad and feel guilty I couldn't share 2018 with her. We have a very busy March and Spring ahead of us. Our house is being remodeled, our upcoming wedding and of course riding season. The weather has sure teased us, and luckily for a friend or two ridin- ing has already begun. March is coming and Easter on its way. We all look forward to an early spring, flowers popping up, grass growing, trees budding and the roar of a motorcycle going down the road. This is why I have the Winter Blues, so much coming up and not sure if there is enough time to do all of it. For now I will be done with this story as Spring has not yet sprung. To be continued???? Meeting Minutes 2/17/2018

Four months ago we polished our bikes, treated the gasoline and parked them where we thought to be the safest place. The fall ride to Letchworth State Park is now just a memory. Winter is on its way and thoughts of spring already fill our minds. The will come soon that we pull our bikes back out and start another beautiful riding season all over again. We rush from store to store including HDJ trying to find the right gifts for our loved ones. While the days leading up to our Lord's birthday seem to take forever and the nights are lasting even longer.

A r e y o u ready to ride? I t ’ s a l m o s t March and the days are getting longer and the t e m p e r a t u r e s are going up. St. Patty’s day is just around the corner and I’m planning to ride if the weather c o - o p e r a t e s . Some of us got

out for a ride on the 20th of February as the temps were in the upper 60s and the roads received a good cleaning the day before with the hard soaking rain. It sure felt good to be on the bike again. We have an exciting riding season planned with a lot of lunch rides, some Saturday rides, a weekend ride to Indianapolis, and an overnighter to Watkins Glen all ready planned. Also there is another overnighter in the works with the details still being worked out. A copy of the schedule for the year is in this newsletter and will be sent out via email soon. Please take a good long look at this schedule and maybe volunteer to lead one of these rides or plan a ride on a different day and let me know and I will add it to the schedule. I received a lot of good ideas from the

members at the February meeting and will be incorporating a number of these places in our rides. Some we have been to before and a few new ideas and one crazy lady that wants to do a ride to Amarillo Texas (count me in LOL). Don’t forget to send in your starting mileage for this year as the season starts with the St. Patty’s day ride. You can email it to me ([email protected]) or the Chapter email address ([email protected]) or put it on the Chapter Facebook page. Let’s make that half a million mile mark that we fell a little short of last year. Well enough ramblings from me, “Saddle Up Let’s Ride”.

I’m excited to be a part of the local H.O.G. member and am a lifetime member of H.O.G. I have only been riding for a few years. I’m a veteran of the US Air Force 1993-1997. I live in Randolph NY. Currently work at Home Depot in Lake-wood, NY and am planning to start my own business. Last summer I bought my first Harley which was a 2007 Sportster 883. Loved it so much, I bought a 2017 Heritage in November. I haven’t been on a lot of rides as of yet but like cruising the backroads and going on long rides. Thank you again and look forward to a lot of rides this summer.
