COMPANY INTRODUCTION Byleveld and Associates was formed by a young and innovative attorney, Rudi Byleveld, who had the privilege of practicing in specialized fields of the law such as commercial law, debt collection, insolvency law and medical malpractice.

Rudi had the opportunity to work and develop in close proximity with the most skilled and experienced professionals in the field, from an early stage granting him with the ability to develop and apply his own comprehensive set of specialist skills. Adding the substantial benefit of being up to date with the latest case law and legislative developments.

Byleveld and Associates operates in an environment, with the foundation of client satisfaction, we pride ourselves on providing above industry standard turnaround times, and exceptional quality of work. Byleveld and Associates is a new startup law firm that was recently established and growing rapidly, with one Director and two attorneys in total.

As a law firm, we are progressive and foster open, friendly and informative relationships with our clients, we have fast turnarounds and continual report backs ensuring fast and effective services of expert quality. In its baby shoes, we are effective provide excellent service and advice well in accordance with industry standards, and remain up to date with the latest changes and progressions in legislation and case law.

ASSOCIATESMelanie van Aswegen IncorporatedMelanie van Aswegen obtained her B.Iuris and L.LB degrees at the University of the Free State and has been practicing as an admitted attorney since 2001. She is currently a member of the Law Society of the Northern Provinces.

Melanie is one of a select number of accredited mediators, registered with the South African Association of Mediators (“SAAM”) which is the governing body of family law and divorce mediators in Gauteng. She is also part of the first intake mediators on the panel of accredited court annexed mediators to be appointed by the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development.

With a passion for Family law the Practice has a definite child-orientated focus, in which the best interest of the child will always be paramount.

The practice prides itself in a uniquely holistic approach and is part of a well-established network of social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, law enforcement agencies and other attorneys. The practice’s dedication to excellence ensures that our client’s needs are met.

Melanie van Aswegen is also an EDTP SETA Accredited Assessor and Moderator and conducts training in various fields of law.
