Q is for…Quaker Stake and Lube

FACT1

Quaker Steak & Lube is a casual dinning restaurant based in Sharon, Pennsylvania. The original restaurant was built in 1974 by George "Jig" Warren and Gary "Mo" Mascaras in an abandoned gas station in downtown Sharon, and decorated with license plates and old automobiles. Originally a "cook-your-own-steak" establishment, Quaker Steak's signature dish is now its chicken wings and the variety of sauces used to season.

The restaurant is known for its chicken wing hot sauce flavors, which are depicted on the Scoville scale. The hottest flavor is the "Triple Atomic Sauce", which is made from the ghost pepper. The Atomic flavor is sold individually in a dropper bottle sealed in an oversized childproof prescription container. Customers must sign a liability waiver before ordering the Triple Atomic or Atomic, freeing Quaker Steak from any liability.

John Wayne Todd (c. 1950 – November 10, 2007), also known as "John Todd Collins", "Lance Collins",and "Christopher Collins",was a speaker, occultist, and conspiracy theorist who claimed to have been born into a 'witchcraft family' before converting to Christianity (in 1972, by some accounts).

The “Underground Railroad” was an organized system for helping escaped slaves from the southern states reach freedom in the north or Canada in the years before the Civil War.

V is for…Villisca Axe Murder H ouse

FACT1 Almost 97 years ago, long

before serial killers and mass murders had become a way of life, two adults and 6 children were found brutally murdered in their beds in the small mid-western town of Villisca, Iowa. During the weeks that followed, life in this small town changed drastically.

FACT2 As residents of this small

town reinforced locks, openly carried weapons and huddled together while sleeping, newspaper reporters and private detectives flooded the streets. Accusations, rumors and suspicion ran rampant among friends and families.

Xavier High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is the sixth largest and only Catholic high school in the Cedar Rapids metropolitan area.

It is affiliated with twelve area Catholic parishes and the Archdiocese of Dubuque. Xavier opened in 1998 after two previous Catholic high schools, Regis High School and LaSalle High School, merged.
