By a Joint Resolution approvedhay 8, 1914, "designating the secondSundayin Mayas mother’s Day, and for other purposes”, the President is authorized and requested to issue a yroclamation calling uponthe govern- ment officials to display the United states flag on all governmentbuildings, and the people of the United States to display the flag at their homes or other suitable places on the secondSundayin hay as a public expression of our love and reverence for the mothers of our country; ANDWHEREAS, By the said Joint Resolution it is madethe duty of the ?resident to request the observanceof the secondSundayin lay as provided for in the said Joint Resolution; How,Therefore, I, WoodrowWilson,Fresiient of the United Ttates of America, by virtue of the authority vested in he by the said Joint Resolu— tion,do hereby direct the governmentofficials to display the United States flag on all governmentbuildings and do invite the people of the united States to display the flag at their homesor other suitable places on the secondSundayin Kay as a public expression of our love and reverence for the mothers of our country. In witness whereof I have set my handand causedthe seal of the United States to be hereunto affixed.
