What is a Flight Attendant? The role of a flight attendant derives from that

of similar positions on passenger ships or passenger trains, but it has more direct involvement with passengers because of the confined quarters and often longer travel times on aircraft. Additionally, the job of a flight attendant revolves around safety to a much greater extent than those of similar staff on other forms of transportation. Flight attendants on board a flight collectively form a cabin crew, as distinguished from pilots and

engineers in the cockpit.

Job Outlook:Employment of flight attendants is

expected to grow about as fast as the average for all occupations through the year 2018. There is a lot of competition for jobs as there are more job candidates than there are positions available.

Working Conditions:You have to travel a lot so you won’t

always been at home, which can sometimes be a problem.

You have to be friendly! And like working with and around people.

There’s lots of competition of jobs.

Education:While a high school diploma is the

minimum requirement for those who want to work as flight attendants, many employers prefer to hire job candidates who have a college degree. Candidates who have taken flight attendant training courses have the best chance of getting hired. In addition to previous training, all newly hired flight attendants receive three to eight weeks of formal training from their employers.

Salary:Flight attendants get paid between $14.00 and $40.00 per flight hour, that

works out to about $29,120 to $83,200 that’s if you worked 40 hours a week.

Depending on your experience and how many hours you work you make a different amount of money

Also depending on the place you work, the pay could differ.

Why am I interested?The reason I want to be a flight attendant is

because a few years ago I came over my fear of airplanes, and realized I actually really like flying. I decided I would like to fly as much as I can.

My family jokingly told me I should be a flight attendant, and ever since then I’ve decided that that’s a really option for me.

Since then, I’ve been looking into what I would have to do to become, and I’m seriously considering it!

Also I’m interested in it, because I love traveling, and this way I would get to all the time!
