UNION ARTILLERY The Union used a cannon called

Napoleon, because it is lightweight, and is affective up to 1700 yards.

The Union had a secret weapon called the Gatling Gun it was a six barrel gun that they would crank and it would fire rapidly.

UNION BLADES The union used swords called sabers. They used bayonets on the end of their

rifles, they were called “life savers”.

UNION RIFLES They used the British made Enfield rifles

because they were accurate, and had a .577 caliber bullet.

Colt Army Model 1860 was a .36 caliber rifle, it was remodeled after the 1848 Dragoon.

The 1850 Harpers Ferry Rifle was created to increase accuracy and soon became the mainstay of the Union Army.

UNION HANDGUNS The Colt Model 1860 was a .44 caliber

six shot revolver, over 146,800 were purchased.

The Colt Navy revolver was a.36 caliber six shot weapon, over 215,000 were sold.

The LeMat Revolver was equipped with two barrels that can hold nine .40 caliber rounds, and a .63 caliber round. It also came with the option to get either an eight or a twenty gauge shotgun barrel.

UNION EXPLOSIVES The Union Army used DuPont explosives

during the civil war. They also used Ketchum grenades that

would detonate on impact.

CONFEDERATE ARTILLERY They used a cannon called the 24-Pound

Howitzer that fired a 18.4 lb ball.

CONFEDERATE BLADES Like the Union the Confederacy used

bayonets on their rifles. The Confederacy also used sabers.

which shot a .58 caliber minie ball.

CONFEDERATE HANDGUNS The Colt Model 1860 was a .36 caliber

handgun. The Figure Eight was made specifically

for Civil War use.
