• Goliath came out of the Philistine camp• He was a huge

giant over 9 feet tall• He wore bronze

armour• He carried a spear• A man carried a

shield in front of him

• Goliath shouted at the Israelites for 40 days for someone to fight him• No one wanted

to fight the giant

• David tells the Israelites he will fight Goliath• He was only a

young shepherd boy• He only had a

wooden staff, 5 stones and a slingshoot

• First stone = Courage

• Second stone = Confidence

• Third stone = Preparation

• Fourth stone = Trust

• Fifth stone = Victory

• David took a stone and aimed

• He hit Goliath in the forehead

• Goliath fell down and died

Why is this still meaningful

today?

• We all have a ‘giant’ in our life, some kind of worry or fear

• If we think of David’s stones we can overcome this fear
