Note Names and Values There are three basic notes that you need
to know. They are

The Whole Note The whole note is held for four steady beats.
When you start playing, count to four in your head. 1-2-3-4 Or, you
can say super long note. SU-PER-LONG-NOTE Practice clapping or
playing a whole note.

The Half Note The half note is held for two steady beats. When
you start playing, count to two in your head. 1-2 Or, you can say
long note. LONG-NOTE Practice clapping or playing a half note.
