• Romans 8: 28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.

In love 5 he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.

GOD’S PURPOSES FOR CHRIST• Philippians 2:9 Therefore God has

highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

PRINCIPLES• God is sovereign over all things• Life in the “middle time” is hard & good • God has logical morally justifiable reasons for

what He allows (but doesn’t usually tell us)• God makes all things (sad & joyful) work for
