What a Bald Eagle looks like.
A Bald Eagle has brown feathers in the first 3 or 4 years.Most eagles are brown and black. They can be up to 24 to 45 inches. A Bald Eagle weighs 14 pounds. Their wing span is 6 to 8 feet. They have strong legs and sharp talons.
Baby EaglesBaby eagles are called eaglets. Bald Eagles
lay 3 eggs per time. Eaglets have black feathers
and themother has brown and white feathers.
A Bald Eagles habitat
It can live in the desert to the chilly Arctic Tundraand Canada. The Bald Eagle’s Ohio habitat is trees near Lake Erie.
A Bald Eagles preyBald Eagles eat owls and mice. Bald Eagles
rarely eat road kill. Their is a variety of other animals. It eats ducks, fish, coots, and many other animals. The Bald Eagle dives straight down to catch it’s prey.
A Bald Eagles enemies
Raccoons steal eagle eggs. Eaglets are eaten byother birds of prey. Bald Eagles were killed by the DDT poisoning.
How a Bald Eagle protect itself
A Bald Eagle does not protect itself. A Bald Eagle
does not hibernate and camouflage.
A Bald Eagles life span
Eagles in the wild live for 20 years. In the zoos eagles live 40 years.
What is special
We like a Bald Eagle because it is the U.S.A. bird. It is special because it is the U.S.A. bird. That is all about the American bird.
