The Road Not TakenTWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,And sorry I could not travel bothAnd be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I couldTo where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,And having perhaps the better claim,Because it was grassy and wanted wear;Though as for that the passing thereHad worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally layIn leaves no step had trodden black.Oh, I kept the first for another day!Yet knowing how way leads on to way,I doubted if I should ever come back.

Family Life- At 11 years old, Robert Frost’s Father died- 3 years after Graduation, Frost married Elinor White, who he shared Valedictorian Honors with.-Dropped out of Harvard due to Tuberculosis and his second child’s birth.- 3 years later his oldest child died.

Schooling -Graduated From his local public high school (Lawrence High)in 1982 & earned valedictorian honors- Shortly went to Dartmouth Collage.- Was a special student at Harvard University in 1897

Fun FactsRobert Frost did many jobs:• he taught grammar school• spent time working hard at a mill• helped a newspaper reporter. His marital issues reflected in his later poem Home Burial.

He later published his first poetry book called a Boy's will in 1913.

Later in life, he received many awards and even read at Kennedy's inauguration in 1961.

Influences:- His life inspired poetry like

the book Home Burial, made after his son’s death.

- His poetry was also influenced by nature, as shown in A road not taken, were Frost explains 2 roads in a forest.
