Edwin Aldrin

• Walked on moon July 1969

• Set up instruments and took pictures of the moon.

• Spent 5 1/2 hours outside a spacecraft in July 1971.

Neil Armstrong

• Apollo 11 Astronaut• First man to walk on

the moon• Gathered rocks and

Venus

• The brightest object in space.

• It takes 224.7 days to orbit the sun.

• It is on the far side of the sun.

Saturn

• Named after the Roman god of farming.

• The rings are made of pieces of ice.

• About 890 miles from the sun.

The Moon

• The moon’s phases are new moon, first quarter moon, full moon, and last quarter moon.

• The moon revolves around the earth and rotates as it revolves.

• There are craters on the moon that are caused by pieces of flying rock in outer space.

• Space was very interesting to research. Our group learned so much about the different planets. We were very surprised to learn that the planets are almost never in a straight line. Also, there are many moons in outer space. Why doesn’t our moon have a name?
