What is an AGV ?

An automated guided vehicle or automatic guided vehicle (AGV) is a mobile robot that follows markers or wires in the floor, or uses vision, magnets, or lasers for navigation. They are most often used in industrial applications to move materials around a manufacturing facility or warehouse. Application of the automatic guided vehicle has broadened during the late 20th century.

Towing vehicles

There are several different models of AGVs with towing capacities of up to 50,000 lb. All of these models can tow single or multiple trailers and be configured for manual or automatic loading.

Benefits of a Tow System: • The ability to move considerably more loads with

multiple trailers than a single fork truck• Material handling efficiency is planned and predictable• A well-designed system can operate at a programmed speed to meet production rates and maintain safety• Localized use of manual for trucks should replace maintenance costs and prolong the life of the equipment• Increased safety

Unit load vehicles

There are eight different models of AGVs unit load carrier vehicles. Unit load carriers feature rugged steel frame construction designed to function in industrial environments. Each model offers a unique combination of capacity, steering, load transfer and dimensional characteristics.

Benefits of a Unit Load Carrier: • Loads delivered and moved upon command

• Improved response time• Reduced product damage• Efficient scheduling• Reduced aisle traffic• Flexible routing

Automatic guided carts

AGC Configurations Automatic Guided Carts (AGC) are flexible

and inexpensive. They can be used for material transportation and assembly line tasks. At about half the cost of a conventional AGV, these units pay for themselves quickly as well as automate and remove overhead labor from manufacturing process.

Fork

fork AGVs cover a wide range of configurations and capacities. Standard capacities range from 1,200 to 4,000 lbs. Our modular design, based on standard chassis, allow a flexible combination of fork attachments and lift heights to be provided.

Automated hospital cart transporter

AGVs for hospital cart transportation utilize ‘Smart’ AGV control system and unique ‘virtual’ path navigation technology. AGVs are used to move all types of hospital carts including food, linen, trash, supply, surgical kit type carts. System controls allow considerable flexibility to meet different department user needs. The AGVs are automatically assigned to heavy cart volume areas to minimize response time and optimize throughput.

Heavy burden carriers

There are four different models of AGV Heavy Burden Carriers. These units feature robust steel frame construction designed to function in heavy industry environments. Each model offers a unique combination of capacity, steering, load transfer and dimensional characteristics. Units range in capacity from 30,000 to 750,000 lbs
