Only 2% of the sunlight actually hits the forest floor.

There are four layers in the rainforest.Monkeys, butterflies, bats and eagles mostly live in the emergent layer .

A-lot of animals live in the canopy layer like birds, tree frogs and snakes because there is large amount of food there.

Not a-lot of sunshine gets down to the understory layer so plants have to grow larger to reach sunlight. The animals that live here are jaguars, most frogs and leopards. There is a large amount of insects there.

It is very dark down on the forest floor and almost no plants grow down there. Fungi grows on the forest floor and ant eaters live there.
