Working on transferring (SP) Small Power from PT(Power Transformers) to DT(Distribution Transformers) hence utilizing the PT utility only for Medium Power, thereby increasing the capacity as well as the sales of both the plants

Represent Engineering Department in the team in-charge of setting up an additional Distribution Transformer manufacturing facility

Identified and documented designs and processes for design of small power transformers, resulting in reduction of engineering time Introduced standardized Quality Assurance processes for drawings

Save $25000 a month by identifying potential design consideration to improve quality and reduce cost of each transformer

Represent the engineering department in the monthly shop inspection team to identify safety hazards and address cleanliness in the work place in accordance with 5S principles

Also once every 4months, participate in inventory count, where we count each and every part in the shop and update our records to maintain the accuracy of our systems

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, Read the specifications given by the customer Design using Inventor, as well as AutoCAD First Check the Shear modulus of the tank to see if the stiffening provided

is good. From the design provided by the Electrical Engineer, I make the Core and

Coil Assembly. Then I make my tank, check my clearances . Check the minimum and maximum oil levels depending on the place the

transformer is shipping to and decide how to place the radiators, and change the design if required. Select and place the gauges depending on the ANSI or CSA Standards after reading the customer requirements.

After getting the approvals, make the required documents for the shop and Complete the Bill of materials, upload the BOM in SAP so as to get all the parts in house at the required time.

DESIGNED UPTO 25 TRANSFORMERS OUT OF WHICH 20 OF THEM SHIFTED SINCE OCTOBER 2012 TO PRESENT. CANNOT ADD PICTURES OF THE TRANSFORMERS I DESIGNED AS IT IS CONFIDENTIAL TO THE COMPANY.

Assisted in teaching the courses Thermodynamics(ME219) ,Thermal Analysis (ME227) for 150 students

Prepared the solutions to the assignments , graded the home works and exams

Conducted help sessions and proctored the tests.

Came up with a design of the car, then designed the car using 2D AutoCAD

Applied the principles of Finite Element Analysis to perform the analysis using ANSYS

Tested and optimized the design by structural analysis

Fabricated the tested design

Performed the “Finite Element Analysis” on Steam Turbines up to 120MW

It included the 2D modeling of the turbine in AutoCAD

ANSYS was used to determine the thermal stresses on the turbine.
